  • How is it possible to install a single voice coil speaker to front and having also phone working? Can you help how to wire original dual voice coil wires together into svc.

  • Is it really required to get gaskets for your speakers? Also how difficult is it to sound deaden the 2 front doors and the back speaker area of the e39?

  • what is DSP and how do i know if i have it? i keep hearing people talking about it. also... all the speakers in my 2003 e39 work.. EXCEPT for the front right side passenger. each speaker in the passenger side do not work.. just no sound comes out, and i dont know why. The speaker is ok(i plugged it into the other side) why dont the speakers work?

  • @minorthreat1234 Hi you can tell if you have DSP by whether or not your stereo has simple Treble and Bass controls or a full blown EQ with other sound effects like "hall" and "theatre" type simulations. Regarding the sound problem it could be a few things and I would recommend you sending an email or calling our tech support at bavsound dot com. Thanks.

  • @bavsound - Issue. I have DSP. But the problem is my radio wont turn on at all. I hit the button and nothing. No light on head unit either. Check wiring, fuses.. bad amp?

  • @IPGAuto Well, yes it could be a fuse, wiring or bad amp. Sorry but without access to the car it's hard to say. Beyond checking fuses and reseating the plugs and wires you might need to go for professional diagnosis.

  • @bavsound - I checked all fuses. I checked wiring.. found few things but shouldn't be a worry. How can I tell an amp is bad. Shouldn't it make a noise when the radio is turned on?

  • @IPGAuto You can either spend the money buying a new amp and plugging that in; if it still doesn't work you can resell the amp and look elsewhere for the problem. Otherwise you'll have to spend hard diagnostic money at a shop or dealer. If that's the case I'd push to get them to roll the diagnostic fee into the purchase price of a new amp should you need one.

  • @bavsound - Alright. I appreciate it. How would BSW sound compare to Harmon Kardon?

  • @IPGAuto I love this question : ) Okay I'd describe the Harman Kardon system as mediocre - The high end is gritty and lacks any sort of definition, the bass is muddy and flabby - it sounds like the speakers are playing "at you" . . . The BSW system sounds like a studio monitoring system - The high end is open, detailed, smooth, deep . . . You can hear the reverb in the room, the air around the vocalist, the separation between a bass guitar/synth and the kick drum. BSW = Depth!

  • @bavsound - I have a 330Ci with Harmon and love how it sounds. I want to hear an example of BSW. Cause its a good deal too

  • @IPGAuto If you love the Harman Kardon system you'll REALLY LOVE the BSW system. It just really opens up the sound, like night and day.

  • @bavsound - Hmm ok. Did I notice a sale going on for E39?

  • @IPGAuto Sorry I'm not sure, just workin the youtube account. Hit us up at the customer service link on BAVSOUND DOT COM and we'll see what we can do! Thanks.

  • Thank You Sir!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm that guy still using the factory phone! Only because it's one built into the arm rest that you put a sim into, I assume I can solder both sets of wires to the corresponding terminals?

  • @WillThePlank We finally found you! Amazing : ) Well here's the thing, our new speakers don't have the secondary terminals, so you'll have to place a secondary speaker inside of the door panel somehow (or some other location in the vehicle). It's not easy, but can be done if you're the DIY kind of guy. Otherwise, you are going to have to choose between phone or speaker upgrade (go with the speakers!).

  • @bavsound Cheers guys, In the end it turned out my system only had one feed (due to the fact it's DSP I think) so new set of tweets and 5.25's and away she went, Only thing I haven't changed is the ones on the shelf (done tweets in the rear doors)

It sounds really good up front so not sure If I should bother doing the rear deck as my rear seats could be a pain to take out due to the built in child seat.

  • @WillThePlank Well sounds like you've dealt with the primary locations. What you did definitely improves most of the sound but of course the rear deck speakers would clean it up even more. The removal of the rear seats isn't too tough but with the child seat that's a question for tech support - on our site - for more info.

  • @bavsound Ok I will give that a try, Also your guide was very helpful too and got me through the install, Quite surprisingly this is one of the easier cars I've ever worked on and I do car audio installs myself. Checking out your E46 stuff so I can change some things about for my mums BMW.

  • what size of speakers is ?

  • @RolandsZvirbulis These are shallow- mount 5.25" speakers with odd impedances. Our Stage I kit replaces the speakers perfectly. Visit bavsound dot com for more info.

  • is this similar to a e60?

  • @simonnim321 Sorry for the delay. The E60 is similar but different sized, more specific speakers. Very easy as well.

  • thank you very much, great job. explanations are quite simple and easy to understand.

  • @nelbakidze Glad it was helpful!

  • @bavsound and funny! :D haha love your sarcasm man!

  • @Deangist : )

  • thanks man, really useful video

  • good job, thx!
