I, like most people I know here in the US, are ashamed of our government and the way it has ruined our name around the world as well as eveiserated the ideals that this country was founded on right here at home. However, the rest of the world should be careful not to kick this country while it is down because we are not likely to stay down for very long. Call us arrogant, call us pompous, just remember when Europe or anyone else is in trouble what do they always do...call us!

Americas poverty is bad, no question, and violent too. the reason for this is our massive drug problem and our corrupt government and it's stupid war on drugs, which is just another name for a war on drug users. When the police incarcerate over 2 million people for drug charges, that leaves millions of broken families to fend for themselves, not to mention the fact that once you are a convicted felon in the USA you might as well just kill yourself. In that respect Europe is way better.

Europe has had the benefit of relying on the US to defend it from the Russians and the Chinese for the last 60 years, now that we are hurting we are finding out who our friends are. I say we should pull out like Ron Paul says and bring all of our troops home and let the Russians and Chinese enslave the snobbish ungrateful Eurotrash.

Europe was protected by the British Canberra bombers which the Soviets knew could fly over Moscow and Leningrad and drop nukes and nothing in the world - no missile, no plane - could stop them, because they flew too high (much higher than inferior American B52's)

Britain also had submarine nukes that it could launch from anywhere in the ocean - hit any target. That is why thhe Soviets and Chinese did not attack Europe.

As bad as things are in the US, it still beats the hell out of Europe. I have been all over Europe and I can tell you first hand that anyone with half a brain knows Europe sucks!

Very true. Personally I wouldn't want to ever visit the US, let alone buy property there (unless the impossible happens and Ron Paul gets to be president, in which case I would even consider emigrating :)
