Estimated friend, if you want to listen again this song and an endless number of successes of the love I suggest you to visit Radio MUSICA PARA MIMOS - looks for his direction URL in Google ( search Musica para Mimos in Google)-. best romantic music of all the times in Internet, is great, is very good ...!!!
@disturbedmonkeysknot Yep! Embarrassingly, I didn't know this song before the show (saw them on 11-11-11-in D.C.), but I just had to look it up. They killed it, but listening to the original...awesome.
@disturbedmonkeysknot No! We didn't get great seats. First row, but directly behind stage right, so Pat's amp was blocking our view of him. That would have been cool to see. I really like watching him play.
@JERappoldletsgo Niiiice. I didn't even think to check the time. But yeah, they killed it. Best performance I've ever seen live. That encore part was just amazing.
Tom and the Heartbreakers hit #40 in Billboard, 2-18-78. I pray that Tom's successful in his attempt to finally quit smokin'. He actually said that he wants to. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!
This song is soooooooooo solid. Today's music can't hold a candle to the music of the '60's and '70's. Makes me wish I was born 35 years earlier (woulda put me at being born in '54)
@scottfiser07 Nothing wrong with when you were born - and the solid music from "back in the day" still has tremendous appeal and you can play it anytime you want. Same for the crap that pases for music these days - you can choose NOT to listen to it anytime you want. I was born in 1951 and grew up with rock music. Now I'm pushing 60 and being born in 1989 has the appeal of youth!
@scottfiser07 I hate when people say this. Music does not suck today. Top 10 billboard hit singles today suck, just like they sucked back in 1976 when this was released. Go look at the top 100 for 1976 and you'll see that the top 10 has stuff like Barry Manilow and Paul McCartney and Diana Ross at the lowest points in their careers. Today there is fantastic music, comparable to back then, it's just not billboard material. Do some digging and you'll find some gems.
@XIDoStuffX The National, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Fleet Foxes, Kings of Leon, Radiohead, The Black Keys, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, The Dirtbombs, Phoenix, Stronoway, The Mountain Goats, The Kooks, Wilco, OK Go just to name a few. If you can't find many, you aren't looking hard enough.
my band covers this song, i never really was all that crazy about it til my my guitarist played n made me sing it like, 3000 times, lol. it really does rub off on ya.
Love just about all of TP's songs. This one is excellent though, his emotion pours out of this one, right up there with Refugee and Last Dance with Mary Jane. I consider him to be one of the best American singer/ songwriters of my generation.
@agnessmash in Dallas at the starplex? I was there as well and I was blown away! I've seen Petty 12 times counting Tuesday and that was probably the best show I've seen him put on.. Tom live is just something else man
