  • Where the heck is Mary?

  • Um if I remember rightly, Jane did not tell them her true name at all when she first woke up. That's rubbish. It didn't come out tll later when the inheritance was left to her.

  • No, no, no! This version of St. John is all wrong...far too congenial, almost playful at times. In the book, St. John is described as being stiff and stoic -- in many respects, he's actually the antithesis of Mr. Rochester.

  • that is a cute St. John...weird though-...

  • And where's Mary Rivers? Although she was't very important character. But still. ;>

  • wouldn't have picked him for a St.john in a million years! Shocked!

  • A good man will never force a woman to marry him. St John sure didn't pray hard about this marriage! He sought his own will before God's.

  • Uh, what happened to her getting an inheritance, a family; you know, independence? So far I rather liked this version but that's an enormous omission.

  • @359339 Exactly. Going back to this version of Edward Rochester without a substantial fortune is an even bigger mistake as it would have been in the other versions. He's not to be trusted, you know...

  • come on! st. john has no love for jane, and is cold as an iceberg. how can he be in this warm way? nonsence!

  • @MsGEOLOVER well he was nice to her but not like this

  • in the book he is a man who denies himself any feelings. heartless. trying to prove himself to GOd.
