if you watch chuck fight, he never keeps his hands up. This wasn't an issue when he was in prime since his reflexes were on point but age has affected his reaction time. With rashad losing to machida he says himself he underestimated machida and got caught. Still gotta give up to evans good figher nonetheless.

He came up through the grunt league(The Ultimate Fighter)(As a Heavyweight no less) He's beat top guys, He has never belittled a defeated opponent or conducted himself like a complete ass. He showboats but its more playful than cocky(like doing the Fred Sanford after the Liddel KO) and even in defeat....which Machida definatley mauled his ass...he was a comlete class act and took like a man. I like Machida, he has got something special and Dana White knows that he can really market this guy. Especially with the whole Black Belt Karate thing. In a sport that has been dominated by wrestlers, kickboxers, juijitisu practitioners, and all around ground and pounders Machida brings in something new tp play on. One thing everyone seems to forget. Although Machido can punch and grapple, HE CAN NOT TAKE A PUNCH!! His chin is very questionable, that is why he runs, or "fights tactically". Machida knows that once he gets hit real hard, his whole game plan changes, and he will fall. Rashad can take a punch, and has proved it time and time again.

Lidell was wining but he got caught. Evans was running in the octagon like he did against ortiz fight. But Evans won with a brutal knockout on overrated Lidell. So he deserves RESPECT. I think He hasnt fought with god fighters yet. (e.g. Rampage, Machida, Thiago Silva and many other). His fight with Ortiz was a draw. For me hes a gud fighter but stylistically hes not as impressive as Machida, Silva, wanderli and many more. I think he will be fighting lower division in UFC at the end 2009.

machida has incorporated his karate into mma like no other. Allows him to be very accurate and avoid punishment. You have to think of mma like evolution. It is only survival of the fittest. You can see it in the way GSP travels to train with best in each discipline and even takes beginner classes. Anderson is an excellent attacker but he has holes in his defense.

Anderson has amazing standup and counter techniques but machida has not lost a single round and is still undefeated.
