Actually Japan lost due to America's brilliant campaign in the Pacific, not because of the 2 nuclear bombs. It was all downhill after Japan lost their Naval force in Midway. The US Navy's submarines brillinatly managed to cut Japan's refueling routes and literally the country dried to death, leaving thousands of warfare machinery out of operation.

Do not overvalue the effect of the atomic bomb. Actually, the invasion of the Soviet Union led Japan to surrender. Japan expected of surrender negotiation by the Soviet,that at that time neutral, after battle of Okinawa, and was waiting for the Stalin's answer even in August in vain.

This documentary makes excellent points and is right on so many accounts. However, the attachment to Hiroshima and Nagasaki is quite weak. Roosevelt's quote was clearly proven wrong as the war was ended in three days after using these two weapons. the atomic bombs efficiently did what all sides had been doing but the world that came later is its own issue completely. The bombs didn't only save Allied (not just US) lives, they saved Japanese lives too, civilian and military. If fighting had gone on, many more would have died, the bombs saved more Japanese lives than they took, let alone lives of many other nations.

The war had already cost the world 60 million people. so what's another 300.000. we know for certain that the war ended after the bombs were dropped. and we can only speculate on whether or not the Japanese army would have surrendered without it. So yes the Us wanted to save their own lives by dealing a devastating blow to the opponent. And it worked.

Actually Japan lost due to America's brilliant campaign in the Pacific, not because of the 2 nuclear bombs. It was all downhill after Japan lost their Naval force in Midway. The US Navy's submarines brillinatly managed to cut Japan's refueling routes and literally the country dried to death, leaving thousands of warfare machinery out of operation.

Do not overvalue the effect of the atomic bomb. Actually, the invasion of the Soviet Union led Japan to surrender. Japan expected of surrender negotiation by the Soviet,that at that time neutral, after battle of Okinawa, and was waiting for the Stalin's answer even in August in vain.

This documentary makes excellent points and is right on so many accounts. However, the attachment to Hiroshima and Nagasaki is quite weak. Roosevelt's quote was clearly proven wrong as the war was ended in three days after using these two weapons. the atomic bombs efficiently did what all sides had been doing but the world that came later is its own issue completely. This extremely valid documentary damages its argument by arbitrarily attaching itself to WWII

The bombs didn't only save Allied (not just US) lives, they saved Japanese lives too, civilian and military. If fighting had gone on, many more would have died, the bombs saved more Japanese lives than they took, let alone lives of many other nations.

The war had already cost the world 60 million people. so what's another 300.000. we know for certain that the war ended after the bombs were dropped. and we can only speculate on whether or not the Japanese army would have surrendered without it. So yes the Us wanted to save their own lives by dealing a devastating blow to the opponent. And it worked.

I didn't mean it in a bad way. I just think the bombing like what it looked like was awesome. How many ppl died is sad. I just hope nothing happens where i live since Korea is threating to shoot nuclear bombs at us.

Hiroshima is an awesome attack but is deadly and sad i guess you could say. Hope this never goes down where i live.
