@disccia if u want something for motocross get the kx 125 2/ but just for general use get the 230 even tho it has more cc it wont be anyware near as good as a the 125 for motocross

i have a 89 kx 125 and it leaks oil out of the engine were the exhaust pipe enters it and it shoots out of the tail pipe it also bogs down when u rev it does anyone know wats wrong with it please reply back

@1998dodgedakotaman...........­.hi there you will need to replace the expantion chambers seal...its a copper washer that is inserted into the front of the chamber and about your problem with your oil shooting out the back pipe well its because you are running the bike to rich and thats also why you are boging the bike... i mix my fuel at 40/1 and i dont have the problem of seeing oil come out of the pipe! *8)

@jasonpakes there is a gasket that is came loose at the place were the exhaust meets the engine and i used a 32:1 mix wat would be a good mix to use and it also will idle high and rev a little by its self and idk why it does that either

@jasonpakes true 40:1 is better but that is richer than 32:1 cuz there is more gas @1998dodgedakotaman get some jets both bigger and smaller than whts in the bike and try going down a size on ur main then play with ur air screw 1 and 1/4 turns out is a good place to start.

a 2 stroke engine is meant to burn oil... thats how it gets its lubrication... so it is normal to see oil residue around the tip on the end can... also if you rev it with your hand behind the silencer u will get small particles of oil on your hand... and the pipe... just change the o ring seal

@1998dodgedakotaman try up jetting the bike, and doing plug chops to see how the bike is running, and because you have been running the bike to rich, carbon buildup has taken the better of your piston i imagine, you might as well put a new head gasket on, and new piston tbh...

Matt543etc... I'm 5'11 and have to rock Side to side on my yz125 so I would go with a 150 4 stroke but it depends on how comfortable you are on a smaller bike and how good of a rider you are. I love 2 strokes and there aint nothing like your first ride on new bike

every motor has a powerband where as in a certain rpm range they have greater power a 4 stroke gradually generates power over most of the rpm range or its power band but a 2 stroke generates insane amounts of power between 6500-8500 rpms and not a huge gain over the rest ALL motors have a power band 4 stroke or 2 stroke

i same a 2006 monsters edition and let me tell u its sick racing exaust and racing vavles probs puts out about 135cc now and damn let me tell u its fast the front wheel always wants to lift up. First time i raced it was up againts a yz250 and i smoked it off the start and he barly pulled ahead of me at the end.

not to shore about the top speed cause its hard to hit top speed unless you are on a flat long road ! a 125 is fast if you can keep it in the power and they are way lighter then a 250 but it has there up and down parts to them and with most bikes every one is different! in small ways

Actually no the 125 and 250 pretty much weight the same thing... the old 250 used to be more heavier but now they have like 10-20 pounds difference for x2 power...
