That´s the main idea. If Roxas were too similar to sora, everyone would guess what he was by the first 20 minutes of gameplay. They had to do some changes, just like they did to naminé.

Yeah, he got a new character model for this scene, 358/2 Days, and some scenes in KH2 Final Mix. It's very subtle, but it's slightly less like Sora, and identical to Ven.

I think they made him look younger because CoM took place just after KH1, so If Sora's younger, Roxas is younger, that's my guess.
