Skukzwun, Someone has taught you to have your chin up at a address no doubt to enable the spine to be straighter to enable a cleaner turn. This is total BS and lies. The spine has slight natural curves. All good ball strikers have a horizontal neck at impact, your head seeks this position on the downswing so any attempt for chin up is bound to fail. Look straight at the ball like Hogan and Nicklaus did and get out of the modern myth. Check out Brian Manzella on Youtube for more.
what i like to see is at the top you can see your right shoulder at the top in the triangle that your make with your fore arms so just a little more upright i think
Excellent position at the top for the so-called "two plane" swing - a la Els & Wie.
I prefer a "flatter" position at the top (Hogan - left arm on same "plane" as the shoulders) but you can obviously play Major championship calibre golf from your postion.
Face on view would be helpful to get a better idea of how your lower body is working.
Also, is your left arm remaining connected to your chest during the downswing? Looks like it may be seperating a bit early, and if so this will tend to cost you both power and accuracy.
Vijay is notorious for the glove drill - take your address position and put a glove between your left arm and upper torso (armpit area) - you should be able to swing through impact without the glove falling out... it will certainly feel strange at fist, but in the long run this "connection" will help your contact/ballstriking CONSIDERABLY - and thus distance will eventually follow.
thanks for your comments! much appreciated. so what is should be doing is taking it back a little less outside and have it work more straight back and inside. i will post a front on video soon!
its to high on the way back causiing you too come underneath it on the way through. is youer bad shot a hook left? orr just strate blok. from were yoou flik it with your hands to catch the club up. this looses so much power. if you look at any your player his impactposition will look alot more closeed rather than yours which is pointing out right.
hmm, good looking swing overall but would be nice if your shoulders faced more to the left at the end, because it seems that you hands may get ahead of your shoulder-turn.
@Skukzwun look at a paused position of your set up position. Draw a straight line up the shaft of your club through your body until it is behind your back. That is aprox where your hands should be at the top of your backswing. From that positon, you can let the club go well and you will have a good, predictable ball flight.
I record that you start the club more straight behind and not some much outside, because then you have to drop your club on your way down, if not you would have pulled it big time;) I think this will straight up your shots and you will just hit 5 yard draw with your driver and just i little draw with your irons.
you are starting your backswing to much outside and then dropping inside and then pushing it. im pretty shoure you hit a big draw?:P Nice swing, could be really good if you change thoose things;)
yea you're right i play about a 10 - 15 yard draw with the driver and about 5 - 10 yard draw with the irons. so you reckon that keeping the club on more of an inside path going back will help straighten it out a bit? cheers
you swing out then inwards which could cause a slice
