  • Reminds me of my first jumps back in '88 on round canopies - we spent hours doing PLFs and were suitably bruised ready for our first exits.

I take it they no longer teach PLFs?

  • @jagara1 they still teach PLFs a lot- get taught to plf if the landing looks like its going to be rough or if we flare early.

I always tried to run it off but ended up slipping and sliding along on my backside more often than not...

  • @Parabueto Thanks - my first two jumps were on round canopies(can't remember the name) not even the conical ones and they had a very fast sink rate - landed straight on my derriere first time and learnt after that the importance of the PLF :)

  • The amount of times I've showed this to people around the dropzone.

  • Not to worry my exits were alot worse than them, dont panic :)

  • bad out

  • yeh...ouch man, done any more?

  • @SandyJayAgingerguy

Yes, I did a second jump the next day and managed to get up there last week exactly 6 months after this and get another three done- Still not very good but improving a bit. Hoping to jump soon again.

    Blue skies

  • @Parabueto sweet keep at it! All in the name of progression, we all have bad jumps! :)
