Watched this video once, and totally decided to do this costume...check mine out on my vlog titled "Random Saturday", its too awesome...thanks a lot!!...
@makaveli769 - For Pacman, we used a sheer "veil-like" material on the top of the mouth, allowing us to see through it. If you look closely on Inky, you can see we did the same on the side (the sheer material has a slightly different color).
Ok i have many question what did u use inisde to hold it for support while walking? and what material was that you guys used as the yellow and the black inside? plaease i got minus 4 days!!
@makaveli769 - The key is to create a shoulder brace that is either permanently attached inside, or create one that can be removed, for more easy transportation. More specifically, you need to make sure that the brace has a way to prevent itself from sliding off/out when the weight of the costume is pulling itself down. 2:00-2:10 you can kind of see what type of box we used for a shoulder brace. For the black and yellow material we used a cheap fleece-like material.
@verovilla92 - On the shoulder braces inside we used foam padding on all of the tension point hitting the nack and shoulders. It wasn't enough though and still got very uncomfortable after a while, so maybe double that up with some firmer foam padding.
@Eownage - I wish I would have though about that before. I would have documented it better. Maybe at some point I will do a Pacman 2.0 and do an instructables tutorial with it.
Please, help me, I want to make this costume for our school carnival (With also few ghosts) But I've got only about 5 days left, I need something fast and cheap, but GOOD!
@kevin123abc - We used fabric glue and staples (lots of staples). And the cloth we got at Hobby Lobby, but you should be able to get it from any store that sells material for sewing. It was a fleece-like cloth, likely used for light blankets, or similar items.
@kilo9111 - Take a thumb tack, twine or other thick string, and a sharpie marker. Tie one end of the twine around the thumb tack, then measure out 18 inches and tie it around the sharpie at that 18 inch point. Now stick the tack in the center of your sheet of cardboard, stretch the string so its tight, and then while lightly pulling to keep the string straight and tight draw your circle like you would use a compass in geometry. Thats how we did it.
@musickrazy43 - We basically took heavy grade cardboard boxes (which you can easily get from Costco or Sams Club. We then just cut out arches on all sides and created pockets of sorts that the "legs" of the arches fit into. We then used velcro and wedges on the inside of the costume to keep the brace in place once inserted. Hopefully that helps. I can provide more details if needed.
@humanbeliever - It is a type of Fleece fabric. I cannot remember the exact kind though. We pretty much got the type that was on sale. We just made sure it had some very slight stretchiness to it. Hope that helps.
@prc108: Wood is going to make it rather heavy. If you use wood, make sure you use sufficient padding on all points that rest on you. Otherwise you are going to hate the costume after 15 minutes. As far as cross support, I would use thick dowels and drill into them from the outsides. That should provide sufficient weight and tension distribution.
@andyroo2540: we used cardboard cross braces attached to both sides on the inside. In hindsight we should have attached them to the outside by punching through the sides before attaching the cloth. We were able to stabilize them with dowels clipped to the cross braces, but excessive movement and the stress on the braces when putting it on made them come loose.
