@hurricaneUK Well, in my humble opinion, I like to think of indie as more muse-esque. Like that kind of new wave guitar music. Whereas alternative would be kind of like guitar music, but with less over production I guess, kind of like Snow Patrol back in their, "Final Straw" album when they weren't as shit. Now I'm not comparing Snow Patrol to Ash, don't get me wrong, but like I'd put them in the same area as Snow Patrol, except more rock, less cheesey shit pop. Rather than with Muse and Indie.
