@olly4112 Hi Olly, the brighter ones do have ion trails, it doesn't show up very well due to youtube compression and my own processing of the video, which wasn't as good as it could be. Make sure you select the 480p option for the best quality. Hopefully I will have a better video for 2011, but since I live in Ireland, I wouldn't be too hopeful about getting good weather for the Quadrantids again!

It was supposed to peak at about 19:00 UT Jan 3rd, I can't tell for sure as I only have data from my own site,

Hi thanks for info . I am in central Scotland . Had seen the prediction as well . Hoped to do some filming but got tied up . Looked out at 17.00 for few minutes but never saw anything . Noticed another prediction that 05.00 and the 4th might be good .

The main problem is that even though the peak was during nighttime hours here, it wasn't after midnight. It is not until after midnight that the midgies start hitting the windscreen as it were lol.
