This is by far one of Doris Day's best recordings. Her voice melds with the words and music, and she sytlizes the song like no other. Listen to the highs, the lows, the mellow notes. it is FABULOUS
@michaeljdevita You are so right ... this is such a great song from Doris ! She describes herself as a "song stylist" ... and wow... isn't she ! I haven't listened to this for awhile ... thanks for commenting .. I really enjoyed hearing this again ! So happy you enjoyed too !!
my family brought her into this country. and her and my grampa had a thing before she became famous. But like most stars they gotta get work somehow. TY for shareing PEACE
Damn....why yal gotta drag Marilyn Monroe into it!?! Let each stand on their own merits....they are equally talented and beautiful ladies! Respect for Ms. Day!!
I know ... they are defintely different types and should stand on their own merits. I love Marilyn too. I was just watching a video about her... love some of her movies... 7 Year Itch, Some Like it Hot .. Gentlemen Prefer Blondes... How to Marry A Millionaire - I swear - when she walks into that wall... nothing funnier !
In the past few years she's been getting more credit than in the past 20 years or so. She did finally receive a lifetime grammy. And there have been quite a few books about her. Some of them aren't something I would suggest reading - but a few are good. Many of us are waiting for the academy to honor her...but I personally think they won't. They like a personal appearance and she won't go. Really sad. She is still the only woman besides Shirley Temple on the all time #1 top ten list.
Thank you for posting this number by our girl. The song and her rendition of it evokes a subtle sexiness that was Doris Day's hallmark. Classy and understated, wow!!
Thanks for commenting on this - I haven't watched this for some time and I really love this song ! You are so right - subtle sexiness...classy and understated...what a great description !
Just browsing through your Doris Day videos. Love the photos. You have some I haven't seen. She has to be the most photographed women from those years. Love it. Thanks for posting.

Yes Dayniac I sometimes feel she doesn't get the credit she deserves. I mean she does, but she should get soooo much more!

Glad you enjoyed. I've been collecting photos for years and now I can finally put them to use !! Its a lot of fun.
I have photos from hundreds of movie mags she was in - I think the only star that could possibly be in more is Elizabeth Taylor.
I think you're right - one of the most photographed women in movies...but she was at the top for many years !
Thanks again !!
