I've never heard of cops kicking you out of somewhere saying you should skate in the park we built you. Maybe it's because I live in a big city but that seems to be a problem with certain places, I mean some cities probably need a skatepark. As soon as cops can say "why don't you just skate at the park that WE built for you" the street scene dies because tickets become more than just a hassle to the courts at that point. Street skating is actually looked at as trespassing when there's a legal place for people to skate in the general area. So, no... I don't want more kids to skate.

@MegaShaaf Have you ever been to a skate plaza? They're far from "exactly mimicking street skating". Sometimes I want to skate alone... that doesn't happen very often in a park, and there's no sense of adventure at all. More people within the skateboard community SHOULD mean that there's more money going into skateboarding, but because of mall shops a lot of the profit that could be going to local core shops that support the community actually goes to corporations.

@ajkraz621 If you're a fan of skate parks then that's true. I don't like skate parks and realized long ago that the more skate parks there are the more cops hassle you for skating in the street. If you keep it hidden there wont be as many skate parks and then it's harder to use the "why are you skating in the street when there's a skate park right down the road" argument.

You've got to realize that cops are people too, and as long as they have skaters to harass they don't have to deal with real issues, like gangs. Would you rather harass kids all day or possibly get shot at? It's the same for a cop. Some are going to want to do the right thing and keep their community clean, and others just want a paycheck.

The way cops see it is that the skate park is the same to a skater as a football field is to a football player. In reality skateboarders are more closely related to golfers. Think about it... they want new challenges, and that means new courses. As skaters we want new challenges and that means we either need a lot more parks or to skate street.

I know its old but i was playing sk8 3 yesterday and i remember playing some sort of 1 up thing with him and he was riding for fallen and i started to cry(not rely but it was rely sad to se him in the old days compared to him now)

Man Chris Cole was/ is a huge inspiration in skateboarding to me. He is the reason why I switched from audo and dc to fallen. What a shame to see all that talent(and don't get me wrong dc is an excellent shoe company) go to a company that doesn't really focus on skateboarding.

I'm sure JT isn't happy about Cole leaving but he definitely couldn't afford to pay him as much as DC can so he either had to accept that or be selfish and keep Cole from going off and making more money, which is obviously what it was all about. @ajkraz621 If you're a fan of skate parks then that's true. I don't like skate parks and realized long ago that the more skate parks there are the more cops hassle you for skating in the street. If you keep it hidden there wont be as many skate parks and then it's harder to use the "why are you skating in the street when there's a skate park right down the road" argument.

You've got to realize that cops are people too, and as long as they have skaters to harass they don't have to deal with real issues, like gangs. Would you rather harass kids all day or possibly get shot at? It's the same for a cop. Some are going to want to do the right thing and keep their community clean, and others just want a paycheck.

Most cops think its a disruption more than a sport and they need to see there wrong.

@ajkraz621 Yes... if you play sports in the street they will tell you to take it to the court, field, rink, etc. I don't think you get what I'm saying. The way cops see it is that the skate park is the same to a skater as a football field is to a football player. In reality skateboarders are more closely related to golfers. Think about it... they want new challenges, and that means new courses. As skaters we want new challenges and that means we either need a lot more parks or to skate street.

Fallen was manufactured and distributed by DC back in '03 but then Quiksilver bought DC in '04 for $87M and distribution was turned back over to Jamie Thomas the following year. Fallen is now distributed by Black Box, which is owned by Jamie Thomas while DC is a subsidiary of Quiksilver.

Man Chris Cole was/ is a huge inspiration in skateboarding to me. He is the reason why I switched from audo and dc to fallen. What a shame to see all that talent(and don't get me wrong dc is an excellent shoe company) go to a company that doesn't really focus on skateboarding.

I'm sure JT isn't happy about Cole leaving but he definitely couldn't afford to pay him as much as DC can so he either had to accept that or be selfish and keep Cole from going off and making more money, which is obviously what it was all about. Cole isn't going to make more money simply SKATING for another deck company so I'd say he's pretty much cemented in as a Zero rider til the company goes under.

Couldn't agree more on what you just said. Chris cole has been my favorite skater since the 2004 Tampa pro contest and ever since then I have always looked up to fallen zero and black box distribution. But I was never a fan of dc. To see him leave fallen for dc, that blows.

Yeah COle is probably thinking about his family and perhaps DC has promised him the world. DC image sucks though its so played out albiet they do have some great shoes some i repeat. Who know maybe Thomas is a pain in the ass as a boss u do notice people in the industry seem to be afraid to talk any shit abou
