Good comedy is always universal and this show is popular in the USA, Canada, Europe and Australia.

Mrs Brown has polarised many for that reason - this sort of comedy became obsolete in the 80s/ 90s and it has been brought back and many do not want it back . That is my point.

Comedy in Britain is elitist and deemed unacceptable if the middle classes do not like it.

My favourite British sitcoms are Peep Show, Black Books, Early Doors, The Office, One Foot in the Grave, Fawlty Towers, Porridge. The Royle Family had it's classic moments too. There's not a great deal of comedy on the box at the moment however. Mrs Brown's Boys seems like an awful effort in comparison to those other comedies.
