I tried this one tonight, it was delicious but I must admit I went wrong somewhere, probably. The juice bubbled over so now I know not to put that much juice in it. Some of the cake was still powdery it didn't get any of the butter and I don't think I left it in the oven long enough because some of the cake was underdone. I'm prepared now for the next time I make it thanks for the recipe I loved it and it was soooooo simple.
Thanks for the great video! You did a great job explaining each step of the resipe and mostly it was great that you showed what the inside looked like after it's baked. Most people forget that part and I think it 's very important. Great job! Paula
Love this dish for a quick desert. I always go with the 2 cans of blueberris and 1 can of crushed pineapple .. Comes out perfect everytime. Good video :). also put pecans on the top as well when baking. SOOOOO goood
I'm going to make this for a picnic.I will but frozen peaches as they taste so much better than canned peaches.I also will add a can of cherry pie mix.I cover the cake in pecans the last 15/20 mins of baking.
this is a great cake, it was a favorite of mine and with the ease of the recipe it allowed my 3 year old granddaughter to cook along side of me! building memories! easy and reasonable. we like cherry pie filling and pineapple. and some people add cashews or pecans......not me though! enjoyed your video!
HEY... I can make this tonight, I have all those ingredients... LOL.. This looks soo good and you just inspired me to go and bake me some dump cake.. cute name BTW... I never heard of it before.. Thank you..
Brilliant!! What a simple recipe, for a very special dessert. I am going to make dessert for an Easter dinner we're going to, and I was looking through All You Can Eat by Tamasin Day-Lewis, feeling very worried (recipes calling for special vessels for steaming puddings, more egg separations that I could handle, etc.) I've decided -- I'm making this instead :D
I made this tonight just the way you did, it turned out great, super yummy. So I posted it on my facebook (hope you don't mind) , which intrigued many of my friends cause they had never heard of it and 2 of them ended up making it. One made it with blueberry filling, pineapple & fruit cocktail and white cake mix and she loved it. Thanks for sharing your recipes!!
I made this years ago with canned pie cherries with pineapple.I put whole pecans on the top of this the last few mins in the oven. Its so good with vanilla ice cream too.
OMGosh .. I have never heard of this .. it sounds and LOOKS sooooo GOOD !!! I can't believe I have never heard of a " DUmp Cake " Where the heck have I been? LOL I Will be making this tomorrow night. Such Yummy goodness and sooo easy. & Ohh my Cheerry .. yes.. Girl .. I am on WW and this is not helping my program. LOL I Promise .. I Promise I will have to promise myself I will have just a little bit.. & Yes .. I will enjoy. =) Wendy .. LOL
The wife is away tonight and the girls and I watched your cake video together and then went to the kitchen to make it! Got 20 more minutes......and we are pacing. Cake and cookies for dinnner!! When the cat is away.....WE PLAY!!! 5 stars.
OH BOY! Cookies AND cake for dinner!? Lucky girls. In our house we usually have the cake for breakfast and I always think of that Bill Cosby bit that he used to do about feeding his kids chocolate cake for breakfast and his wife turning into Medusa. I am so glad you made that and wait for it to cool a bit and don't forget the vanilla ice cream, I mean if you're gonna go for it, go for it right? If you have any left, tomorrow it will be even yummier. Don't cover it all the way it gets mushy.
Ive never had it with peaches, but my mother in law used to make this with cherry pie filling and the pineapple...sooo good! lookin forward to try yours, and play around with the rec.
I made it, it was great. I used cherry pie filling, can of peaches and some blueberries that were left over. I used a hand cheese grater for the butter on top, it made it very even. Love it! This is my new, fast dessert. THANK YOU NOREEN!
There's only a few things I know how to make. Trust me, my wife can tell you plenty of disaster stories about my creations. This, however, looks idiot proof. I'm going to try it. Any time I actually make something that turns out good, nobody believes I made it. Thank you for sharing this.
I hope you do try it. I know that you are doing so good on your eating plan, but sometimes, we just need a treat. I would stick with the canned or frozen fruit instead of the pie filling, unless you have canned your own, because of the artificial crap in it. I am trying really hard now to stay away from the high fructose corn syrup and anything that is chemical. I even have the girls reading lables! Ever since we watched Food Inc. We have changed a lot of stuff. Thanks! Love ya, Noreen
Wow! Just read another comment that someone posted and got the idea of a Black Forest dump cake using cherry pie filling and chocolate cake mix. Then top with whipped cream (Cool Whip). Wouldn't that be good?!!
Yum! I make mine with cherry pie filling and sprinkle with coconut before the cake mix goes on. After the cake mix, I sprinkle with chopped pecans. It's so awesome.
Thanks Noreen, I'm going to try this with a couple of my home-canned cherries jars.. . . or maybe some blueberries. I've never made dump cake, but I've heard of 'em.
Thats the first time I ever saw that..I would love to try that with the fruits you mention..I bet it would be good with chocolate cake, also..thank you, I look forward to your recipes..You present them all so well, and very organized..hugs from rhode island.
that was too easy.......i was wondering if u could make a pineapple upsidedown cake the same way.....add a layer of suger on the bottom first.....ive never heard of an easy pineapple upsidedown cake...lol....that looked realy good...5*****
