to be honest im starting to hate people who come on to these videos and say "stop adding you own music", if you want the original music and sound effects well im pretty sure there is a show for that its called battlestar galactica.
@coldshower33 The problem is that they can't simply add three and a half minutes of actual footage. Firstly, all the sequence cutting would make it sound terrible. Second, it would be removed very fast due to copyright infringement (for some reason, replacing the sound solves the problem).

Why would the Cylons deploy nuclear weapons that would just as likely wipe them out as well? You nerds aren't using your common sense.
Remember: they didn't know exactly when and where the Colonial fleet was going to arrive. And raiders are basically intelligent sheep; even with so many targets floating around they probably chose to focus on the faster, deadlier human pilots.
the reason the basestars aint moving closer to the fleet is simply cause they are designed to stand off at distance and use missiles to go close range would be risky as they found out in season 2 when the two battlestars at close range tore the 2 basestars to shreds.

Hard to explain it, maybe the final battle was even worser, there are dozens of issues with this battle , the basestars were just sitting there, the rate of fire was ridiculously low, the number of raiders was low, stormtrooper effect, nebula with the consistency of a soup
one nuke hitting one ship would destroy the whole flet...etc
Remember, this is in space, there is no oxygen for the nuke to expand. So it would only have the effect of a big explosions not a nuclear sized bomb. On top of that, because it is space these ships dont look that far apart, well there are likley kilometres apart from eachother, im talking around 10Ks atleast.
im saying, the ships are probaly so far apart it would take you half an hour to drive from one ship to another...The vipers alone are probaly going over 150 Km an hour.
I think the reason they weren't moving is because there were so many ships that it could have been a disaster to continuley move. Not to mention that Galactica had to go full defencive.
I mean the cylons, they would fly into the fleet with the basestars, two or three nukes would hit some of the ships..and phhthe fleet is gone (much like in Lay Down Your Burdens)

On the topic of Pegasus in a violent standoff with Galactica, Im afriad Pegasus would win. First of all, on Pegasus side, More advanced and numerous Weaponry, And Forward Cannons. Main Fleet of ships, Mk VII's. And Cain got to admiral from skill. Adama would be admiral had Cain have no skill.
But one thing is, despite the nukes, forward guns, turrets on the top of each ship, the fighters are one of the main defences and without them a battle star is badly weakend. So in a way, theres still a shred of chance for adama because in my opinion Galactica has better pilots.

I think what he means is that the Pegasus was built with an open mind, example. Fighting other Colonys, Cylons, possibly other alien races. But the Galactica was made purley to fight the Cylons, it had no other purpose.

maybe so but thats cause pegasus is a newer design with more advanaced fire control systems due to networking. A viper factory to replace loses over time. But what galactica lacked in technology she gave in spirit she gave more than what was to be expected of a ship that is over 50 years old and she led humanity to earth and helped defeat the cylons. yea thought they did an amazing job of showing a much more realisticl ook at how a ship would not survive in the long term without access todry docks, support, spares etc.one of the things that bugged m about voyager. a ship coming under constant attack from a numericly superior enemy without support or chance of longterm repair is doomed. like how they have been foreshadowing galacticas destruction for for about a season now
To be honest i kinda expected galactica to break down sometime in season 4 after the ass kicking it was given in season 3 when they returned to new caprica. But considering it's age the fact it's undermanned it kicked some ass.
true when you saw the ship bend and flex after the jump i honestly thought the ship was gonna snap in half though one thing did annoy me about daybreak part 2 it seemed to me that when galactica rammed the colony the damage sustained by the ram didnt appear to be much though i suppose the bow section was the most dense part of the ship and we dont know how dense the material used for athe colony structure is. Still overall a epic ending and galactica didnt fail adama and it's crew.
though i still liked voyager i do think your right in that aspect. When you compare galactica in the first season and the current season. But when you look at voyager it dont really show that the ship has being alone withjout help and support the ship always mostly looks fresh out of the spacedock though to a extent it can be forgiven as star trek has way more advanaced tech. But Galactica is now breaking down and is wearly from being the caretaker and protecter of the fleet
The ship was built in space and has no capablity ro land like some of the fleet ships a overhaul would have to do done in spacedock. Plus it's not just battle damage the metal framework is also falling apart due to age and inferior metalwork and materials in a rush to get the ship out to the first human cylon war. So really there was no time where they could overhaul galactica maybe patch over any holes in the armor that are not to big thats thats it
i agree though i think it helps that the basestars dont seem to be armored in comparison to battlestars even galactica is well armed for a 50 year old vessel
When you look back on certain epsoides and thank about you start to realise that if you had a battlestar that was in combat ready shape and was fully manned and didnt have a network to be hacked the basestar on a one v one would lose cause a battlestar would use flak to block most of the missile attacks and the cannons would shred the basestar easily
Well the Colonials lived in fear of a Cylon attack for what was it? 40 years? The design didn't change much over time, they just decided to network the computers which turned out to be the poorest decision they ever made.
yes the mutiny arc was very well done and excuted and i think the galactica showing the structure damage also reflects on the division between the peopleloyal to adama and people who dislike/hate him for the choices he has made i hope they get galactica back in shape cause even for a old vessel it's awesome
The mutiny wasn't just because of the Cylons in the fleet. These people have given their blood, sweat, and tears to find Earth and once they did, it was nuked. It was a combination of the Cylon's and not having anything to live for. At least Dee had one last good night before she shot herself. I have loved and hated everyone at some point, but I've always sided with Adama and/or Helo.
They didn't really kill any old characters, except two secondary characters that have been on the show from the start. I won't say who since that would ruin it for a lot of people.
But the mutiny breaks out because of the Cylons in the fleet. A lot of Colonials don't trust the rebel Cylons, and hate Adama for allowing them to stay in the fleet, and even considering making them full fledged Colonial citizens.
LOL i think me fave eps so are have being mainly in season 2 and 3 i liked the ep's leading up to the internal conflict between adama and cain and season 3 when galactica comes back and rescues the colony and then fat ass apollo destorys his battlestar to save galactica. I also enjoyed the passage where the raptors have to lead the fleet though the radiation field

While I have to admit that Tigh was a shock I do believe it was a good move because he really pushes the fact that cylons are nowhere near perfect machines. Also, when they revealed Helen as the final cylon, it just lived up to the Drama that has been in this version of BSG since the start. This season is becoming really exciting, the first two episodes have been some of the best since the start of the show in my opinion.

fair point FORTYSHIPS but galactica in this battle is already heavily damaged which would have being a factor in the battle as much as the extra fighter cover would be a massive assist i still think maybe the fleet loses should be a bit higher.
you have to realize how big a factor the fighters themselves are. Look what happened to the baseships during 'Resurrection Ship part II'
When their raiders were drawn away, they were blown to pieces. On top of that, the Battle of the Ionian Nebula really only lasted a matter of minutes. And one more point is that there might have been other ships that were damaged that simply weren't shown on screen.
I agree, the base-ships certainly aren't very durable. Even the one currently in the fleet looks to be missing a few limbs. However, the fleet did get lucky in the Nebula fight, I still think if Anders wasn't up there it would have been a lot nastier. But that's how they wrote it lol.
i have to agree the battlestar is also badly damaged so it's combat effective is lessened. And when you consider the firepower brought down against the fleet you have to think the fleet should have suffered at least 50% of it's fleet destroyed or badly damaged. You also have to take into account that the fleetships themselves are not warships have little or no defence guns or armor and most of the fighters were recruits.
Only some of the fighters were new recruits. It isn't stated exactly how many. In addition, you have to remember that the main reason Galactica faired so poorly the last time she was pinned up against 4 basestars is because her crew was so undermanned. She also had no fighter cover during that battle. This time she had about 80 fighters and several raptors. This is why she held her own for so long. The vipors and raptors shot down most of the incoming missiles targeted on the civilian ships.
the cylons had enough firepower to blow the fleet to kingdom come, but the cylon radiers saw tha the final 5 were in the fleet, and piloting the vipers, so they decided to retreat rather then have to fight there own...
Whats amazing about the battle is that despite her old age and battle damage the Galatica is still capable of dishing out and taking alot of punishment.
She did lose one her of dorsal turrets in the battle. The clip at 2.21 is probly when it happend. There is also a hole in her side, the ribs are cracked and broke in that section. Im guessing one of her water tanks was breached
The fleet jumpd to the ionian nebula and lost power. Tori, Tigh,Anders, and Chief realized they are cylons because they keep hearing a song. As soon as this happens all ships regain power and a cylon fleet jumps in. All ships have to spool their FTLs and it will take 20 min Starbuck somehow comes back saying that she found Earth. Anders pilots a viper and a raider recgonizes him as a cylon so the raiders break off the attack and the cylon fleet jumps away

in atmospheric blast appx. 50% of the energy is blast wave, 50% goes into various types of radiation,
remember, no air means no drag on the shrapnels
i.e. if nuke hits one hip, it will make thousands of small projectiles moving at 10km/s and more
one hit rom such a projectile and the nearby ships are gone

I think what he means is that the Pegasus was built with an open mind, example. Fighting other Colonys, Cylons, possibly other alien races. But the Galactica was made purley to fight the Cylons, it had no other purpose.

no, Cain got the rank of Admiral through connections. Adama said it himself. And while you are right that the Pegasus did have serious tactical advantages over Galactica, let's not forget about the 40+ years of military experience Adama had under his belt at the time. I'm sure he'd know where to hit Pegasus and how hard in order to take her down. I wouldn't count the old girl out that easily.....

maybe so but thats cause pegasus is a newer design with more advanaced fire control systems due to networking. A viper factory to replace loses over time. But what galactica lacked in technology she gave in spirit she gave more than what was to be expected of a ship that is over 50 years old and she led humanity to earth and helped defeat the cylons. I would pick galactica everytime when it comes to spaceships i go for the underdogs

yea thought they did an amazing job of showing a much more realisticl ook at how a ship would not survive in the long term without access todry docks, support, spares etc.one of the things that bugged m about voyager. a ship coming under constant attack from a numericly superior enemy without support or chance of longterm repair is doomed. like how they have been foreshadowing galacticas destruction for for about a season now

To be honest i kinda expected galactica to break down sometime in season 4 after the ass kicking it was given in season 3 when they returned to new caprica. But considering it's age the fact it's undermanned it kicked some ass.

true when you saw the ship bend and flex after the jump i honestly thought the ship was gonna snap in half though one thing did annoy me about daybreak part 2 it seemed to me that when galactica rammed the colony the damage sustained by the ram didnt appear to be much though i suppose the bow section was the most dense part of the ship and we dont know how dense the material used for athe colony structure is. Still overall a epic ending and galactica didnt fail adama and it's crew.

though i still liked voyager i do think your right in that aspect. When you compare galactica in the first season and the current season. But when you look at voyager it dont really show that the ship has being alone withjout help and support the ship always mostly looks fresh out of the spacedock though to a extent it can be forgiven as star trek has way more advanaced tech. But Galactica is now breaking down and is wearly from being the caretaker and protecter of the fleet

The ship was built in space and has no capablity ro land like some of the fleet ships a overhaul would have to do done in spacedock. Plus it's not just battle damage the metal framework is also falling apart due to age and inferior metalwork and materials in a rush to get the ship out to the first human cylon war. So really there was no time where they could overhaul galactica maybe patch over any holes in the armor that are not to big thats thats it

When you look back on certain epsoides and thank about you start to realise that if you had a battlestar that was in combat ready shape and was fully manned and didnt have a network to be hacked the basestar on a one v one would lose cause a battlestar would use flak to block most of the missile attacks and the cannons would shred the basestar easily

Well the Colonials lived in fear of a Cylon attack for what was it? 40 years? The design didn't change much over time, they just decided to network the computers which turned out to be the poorest decision they ever made.

yes the mutiny arc was very well done and excuted and i think the galactica showing the structure damage also reflects on the division between the peopleloyal to adama and people who dislike/hate him for the choices he has made i hope they get galactica back in shape cause even for a old vessel it's awesome

The mutiny wasn't just because of the Cylons in the fleet. These people have given their blood, sweat, and tears to find Earth and once they did, it was nuked. It was a combination of the Cylon's and not having anything to live for. At least Dee had one last good night before she shot herself. I have loved and hated everyone at some point, but I've always sided with Adama and/or Helo.

They didn't really kill any old characters, except two secondary characters that have been on the show from the start. I won't say who since that would ruin it for a lot of people.
But the mutiny breaks out because of the Cylons in the fleet. A lot of Colonials don't trust the rebel Cylons, and hate Adama for allowing them to stay in the fleet, and even considering making them full fledged Colonial citizens.

LOL i think me fave eps so are have being mainly in season 2 and 3 i liked the ep's leading up to the internal conflict between adama and cain and season 3 when galactica comes back and rescues the colony and then fat ass apollo destorys his battlestar to save galactica. I also enjoyed the passage where the raptors have to lead the fleet though the radiation field

While I have to admit that Tigh was a shock I do believe it was a good move because he really pushes the fact that cylons are nowhere near perfect machines. Also, when they revealed Helen as the final cylon, it just lived up to the Drama that has been in this version of BSG since the start. This season is becoming really exciting, the first two episodes have been some of the best since the start of the show in my opinion.

lol. Since when has this show not fracked with our heads? That's what I like about it. It isn't some cheesy and predictable thing. You really don't know what is going to happen next. I think Tigh was the best pick for one of the Final Five. Who could have possibly seen that coming.

fair point FORTYSHIPS but galactica in this battle is already heavily damaged which would have being a factor in the battle as much as the extra fighter cover would be a massive assist i still think maybe the fleet loses should be a bit higher.

you have to realize how big a factor the fighters themselves are. Look what happened to the baseships during 'Resurrection Ship part II'
When their raiders were drawn away, they were blown to pieces. On top of that, the Battle of the Ionian Nebula really only lasted a matter of minutes. And one more point is that there might have been other ships that were damaged that simply weren't shown on screen.

I agree, the base-ships certainly aren't very durable. Even the one currently in the fleet looks to be missing a few limbs. However, the fleet did get lucky in the Nebula fight, I still think if Anders wasn't up there it would have been a lot nastier. But that's how they wrote it lol.

i have to agree the battlestar is also badly damaged so it's combat effective is lessened. And when you consider the firepower brought down against the fleet you have to think the fleet should have suffered at least 50% of it's fleet destroyed or badly damaged. You also have to take into account that the fleetships themselves are not warships have little or no defence guns or armor and most of the fighters were recruits.

Only some of the fighters were new recruits. It isn't stated exactly how many. In addition, you have to remember that the main reason Galactica faired so poorly the last time she was pinned up against 4 basestars is because her crew was so undermanned. She also had no fighter cover during that battle. This time she had about 80 fighters and several raptors. This is why she held her own for so long. The vipors and raptors shot down most of the incoming missiles targeted on the civilian ships.

the cylons had enough firepower to blow the fleet to kingdom come, but the cylon radiers saw tha the final 5 were in the fleet, and piloting the vipers, so they decided to retreat rather then have to fight there own...

Whats amazing about the battle is that despite her old age and battle damage the Galatica is still capable of dishing out and taking alot of punishment.
She did lose one her of dorsal turrets in the battle. The clip at 2.21 is probly when it happend. There is also a hole in her side, the ribs are cracked and broke in that section. Im guessing one of her water tanks was breached

The fleet jumpd to the ionian nebula and lost power. Tori, Tigh,Anders, and Chief realized they are cylons because they keep hearing a song. As soon as this happens all ships regain power and a cylon fleet jumps in. All ships have to spool their FTLs and it will take 20 min Starbuck somehow comes back saying that she found Earth. Anders pilots a viper and a raider recgonizes him as a cylon so the raiders break off the attack and the cylon fleet jumps away
