When you go down the highway at 100 km\h or 65 mph, what are your RPMS in 5th gear? And how much a of a difference in engine wear and gas mileage do you think that extra gear helps with? Because I'm looking to a get a 97+ 5 speed Jeep Cherokee just for saving engine wear and gas mileage on the 4.0l.

Nice Cherokee!! I have a '98 Limited that I just converted into a 5-spd.. I went from a 17MPG (average) to 22MPG!!! Simply amazing... I used a rebuilt AX-15 5-spd.. The bell-housing hooks up just like to the automatic transmission.. Cost me about $800 to do everything.
