I need to keep re-visiting this - it's so good! Q magazine stated that when Radiohead were finding it hard to nail this track 'they took a break and went to see Jeff Buckley at London's Borderline. Returning to the studio inspired, Yorke sang the song twice and burst into tears'. Didn't do any harm!
what is truly amazing about this song is its simplicity,,, I am a huge fan and have read sooo many blogs about this song. And i think sooo many fans truly over look and over analyze what this song is truly about. I believe the song is about a broken girl who lives with a broken man bc they are attracted to each other however the singer/3 party person falls in love with this broken women and wishes that he could be whatever she turely wants in live aka "if i could be who you wanted"

Everybody likes Kid A so much when it's not that good comparing to their other albums, I guess everyone that started listening them in 2002 listen to it
I hate when people put down a Radiohead album or compare them there all fantastic in their own ways and are all masterpieces, Radiohead are the best band ever :P genius.
i discovered radiohead when in rainbows came out and was blown away, and now i own and love EVERY SINGLE album they've ever made, and i have quite a few of the 2-disc ones, everything they make is golden!
@Snyltetast I guess not anymore, yeah I know, I was like... well, maybe they're gonna release it on new years or something, cuz they've already done that with scotch mist, but maybe It'll be this year!
@YoshiPower65 I AGREE... but actually Kid A i didnt like, maybe because it was just WAY to experimental, dont know, its still a damn good record, but i cant take it. way to much information and way to much changes at once... anyway, i love the bends and ok computer, so do i love amnesiac and in raimbows, hail to the thief and everything... but kid a is like... @IamTheScorchedEarth i got to respectfully disagree, kid a was their release into experimental music, making them far more than a rock band, into an innovative band. They are leading the way for many bands since then in my opinion.
@101commentary yeah i mean i never said it wasnt a good record, or that it wasnt innovative i just said that personally i cant understand Kid A its just way to unusual to me, and besides i aint that fond of electronic music, great album of course, but really i cant listen to it without hating it

i dont even consider the jonas brothers a band just a hallow bunch of pre packaged teens with disney logos for souls who sole carrer is bulit on their looks and disney saying their the biggest band ever
Because Thom Yorke and Matt Bellamy are apparently the only male vocalists who frequently use falsetto. Therefore, ignoring the fact that Radiohead and Muse sound nothing alike on several other levels, the bands MUST be essentially the same, according to the logic of every douchebag and his dog who has heard maybe two songs by each band.
Don't get me wrong, I like the OK Computer and Post-Computer computer stuff. But never will they ever surpass The Bends era to me. Yorke seemed at his best vocally when he had his blond hair (which obviously had nothing to do with it...or did it)? :P
Ah yes, those were the good sunny days when all seemed well and shiny :) Then Thom got beat up on the street, the earth started warming up, Bush became president and, worst of all, I had to go to college. And Radiohead expressed that frustration in 5 amazing albums. And that's why we love them. Imagine them sticking only to albums like The Bends. We would've grown tired after 5 similar albums, don't u think?
Of course. There are gems spread all throughout their career. I'll always just be partial to the more simplistic acoustic days, with tracks along the lines of this song, high and dry, and nice dream. not to mention bullet proof.
