@efg36 Its that kind of thinking that leads to all these problems. Your opinion is kind of like strong nationalism: "all people from my country is good, my country is perfect, and every one who is not from my country are assholes". Only with species rather then nationality. I believe we ought to respect the animals around us and treat them like creatures, not our property. It is not black and white. There are humans in this world that I think have less right to live than the average dolphin.
@Kabitu1 There is a difference between people from other countrys and animals. The first are human beeings. If you are a nationalist than you are for desitions that help your people a little and other suffer more. But thats here is different, On the one hand are human beeings on the other animals.
Or how many people worth a dolfin? The sea mines are there! They have 2 be removed. I would prefere to go to an dolfin mom and say there that their childs are death than to an human mom.
@efg36 I cant tell if you are trolling, or just really stupid...
My point is exactly that you think humans are worth more than other creatures, for no other reason than that they are humans. It is not a constructive opinion.
What exactly is your problem with dolphins? Did they ever bother you?
YES Humans worth more than other creatures. And this is my opinion because i am an humanistic human. If an (fisheating) Dolphin thinks that Dolphins worth more than it is ok. Humans are Animals. And Animals care more about their own Species. Thinking that you become transcendent ore sth. if you value all creaturs the same makes no sense for me. Its just inhuman to let die humans instead of dolphins. PS: The dolphins are only an example.
Your argument is that humans, as a group, are selfish by nature, and should not do anything about this. I repeat my previous analogy to nationalism. The difference between us and most animals, is the fact that we are capable of recognizing other creatures as living creatures. This ability gives us a responsibility.
Are you saying that we should choose not to recognize our destructive nature as a problem, and consequently choose not to change our behaviour?
Dont mock me for wanting to be something besides the animal I was born as. Our instinctive wish to ensure the survival of our own species over all others makes sense in nature, but today it is pointless.
We can pretty much annihilate any animal on this planet if we wish to. The beautiful thing is that we dont have to to survive. We live in a society where there is room for helping others, besides humans. And the only others there to can help, are the animals.
Its not pointless. The dolthin things show this. If we dont let the dolphins die, humans will. By the risky search of mines. Or by civillians that walk into this deathtrap. And that we choose the dolphins is because we know that -from our point of view- humans worth more.
And only that we know more about our envoriment and the universe dont pull us out of the struggle to survive.
PS: And i am not for annihilate animals senseless. The most of them we need.
