  • And the bike are in italy now. If you have any questions or get a feelin someones not doing something right you can message me. Ill be glad to help so your not getting jipped or possibly hurt

  • @TopSpeedPerformance1 Thanks man, I really appreciate all of the help. I didn't know that could have been such a problem. Yeah I remember the bike became noisier, but different sounding. Turned out to be that he had the wrong measurements. When I rode to his home to have it redone, he worked a bit sloppy but it also began to rain. I sent you a friend invite and subscribed to your channel. I need to have the first time maintenance done on my Vulcan and want to do it myself. How hard is it? Thanks

  • No problem man. If he had to redo it cause it rode like crap then he didnt check the clearance before putting it back together. There is a certain order you check in. You cant just go down the line or any random order. That could have caused a bad problem like droppin a valve and it smackin your piston at 60 mph. Nowhere to go but down on the pavement if that would have happened. One of my friends has a 2001 vulcan classic 900. I do all of his work. Hes never had a problem. Too bad he and the b

  • I didnt see him put the pistons of the ones hes checking in top dead center. Big no no. Other than that he did good. Advice. You dont have to take the cam out to replace a shim. Zip tie them to the timing chain and lift. It will never come out of time

  • @TopSpeedPerformance1 Thanks for the heads up man, I didn't even know about that and it's good to know. I didn't love the way it rode after and so he had to redo it since he messed up on the measurements the first time. Hopefully he did it right the second time around. I sold the bike since then and now have a Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Custom. I remember reading about the top dead center and it's importance. I do remember him pushing the pistons up and down, maybe that didn't get on the recording.

  • YeA my z was just totalled by some bitch spectacular cars they are

  • @pady999 oh yeah, love those cars but now that their mileage is so high, u gotta get new motors and tranys or rebuild them. I really like the twin turbo models, besides their engines are very strong even for the basic models. Sorry to hear yours was totaled, they are historical cars.

  • reppin the 300zx in the back yo

  • @pady999 Yes sir! Not mine though, that was the mechanic's car. He sold it now. Love those cars though.

  • How much did the adjustment cost you? Did you gain any performance? I think mine is due for one, It's making a faint clicking noise.

  • @ThaBR33D

The adjustment can be pricey if you go through the dealerships, don't know how much exactly but I know it's upwards of $200. I had mine done for $50. Here's how it works, if you go tight then you get more performance but less life for the engine, looser gets you less performance but more life for the engine. When loose, you get more engine noise, tighter, less noise. It's recommended to do an adjustment every 6k miles or every 3k if you ride fast. Mine was done wrong at first and

  • @ThaBR33D

had to be redone, he went too loose I think, and it was making a lot of noise, you don't want it too lose cuz gasses don't escape and corrode the valves, too tight and your valves will mushroom. I had him do it in the middle somewhere, and it still will make noise. He told me it's because of the engine design, you will always have some clicking and that's normal, except when it's too loud. The engine is so small you wont feel much performance difference though but still get it done.

  • Have you ever gotten your carbs professionally cleaned? how much did it cost you?

  • @ThaBR33D

I haven't done it "professionally" but I have used "SeaFoam" and I gotta say that's as professional as it gets, works very well. Put some in your gas, put some in your oil, and make sure to follow instructions, works great, I highly recommend it.

  • @vitalichka I put some in mine almost a week ago but no luck... How long did you ride it before it was working better? Mine is super gunked up though, it won't even idle. But it will ride just fine so I dunno..

  • @ThaBR33D

I put in more than needed into gas, ran it for 2 - 5 mins I think, than filled it up with gas, drove it home, then added just a little bit into oil cuz I have too much oil in it right now, than ran it for 5 mins, than it was ridden for approx 20 miles, I could tell idle was way better, it was waaaaay more responsive, etc. Try a valve adjustment, and if you have a lot of gunk, than put more into oil than gas, in fact both would be best but more into oil, it may smoke really bad.

  • have u checked ninja250(dot)org? they do great stuff too. i was gonna do a similar video when i adjusted mine but i got lazy lol. good to see this is up because no1 ever adjusts the valves on a 250

  • @carsnwomen91

I am a big fan of said site, they definitely do great stuff. I got my valves readjusted and now it's better than ever, as mentioned in the followup video I did, the numbers quoted in my videos and on other sites are WRONG and should not be used for adjustments because of translation errors from JAP to ENG. I got mine readjusted but never did get the actual numbers.

  • @vitalichka o ok. well i sent u a link in a pm to the valve adjusting procedure from N250 site... clearance numbers are there, both in inches and mm for both intake and exhaust side valves, check it out if you like

  • @carsnwomen91

Got `em, thanks, do you know if these are right or not because I found a lot of clearance numbers people are getting are from all kinds of sites and the manual from Kawi but the issue is that they are wrong and you can hear it when u assemble everything and run the motor, lots of clicking, then when my mechanic redid everything, he told me the clearance was off bu 2x.

  • @vitalichka well he's gotta be using the right feeler gauge... u have to adjust it so that the max clearance feeler slides in and out with a bit of difficulty... yes those are the right numbers, i have them in my owner's manual and a haynes manual and my factory supplement manual too.

  • @carsnwomen91

That's what I was mentioning in the other vid. The Manuals are very wrong because of a mistake in converting from mm to in, this was done by the Jap manufacturers, and yes you need to use the right feeler gauges but you need the clearance #s first. When he went by the book there were lots of clicking noises and noises period, then he went to a Kawi dealer who said that numbers the books are wrong, they are a misprint for years, he checked again, and they were way off, now all good
