IMO raven is the easiest to learn the combos. But some of the combos ive seen on ps3 videos cant be done on the psp. ( i think. Clarify me if im wrong)

Not that I would say he's the worst but in Tekken 5 it's a bit hopeless, I admit I'm kind of having a hard time playing as Raven, but since I'm fanned of playing ninja characters, I was still interested of learning how to use Raven, until Tekken 6 has finally come Raven has his new great moves which was a very big help to come up with new combos.
I use Raven allot, I first played with Lili but i wanted some challenge. Raven isn't the worst. But he is kinda slow in hitting his opponent. He does a whole move before hitting. But his defo not the worst. You have to learn him.

@JrEM2514 it s cuz bruce is top tier cheracter his moves and current design are just more dominant then most characters that what sucks about tiers I dont know how they managed to make tekken 3 so balanced with a pretty big roster I guess cuz they all took the same damage IDK but yea I'm a lee player I win often but I play a poking lee and the juggle when i can, I'm picking up raven now for Tekken tag 2, lee/raven will be my future main team
@darkoni369 yeah because everyone knows kazuya,he is perhaps one of the most predictable characters in the game,zafina is quite overpowered and SOMETIMES unpredictable.generally kazuyas juggles and combos are weak,sure he has the EWGF,but it is very hard to hit consistently
@darkoni369 Kazuya is more easily played out and there aren't that many Zafina players. Not on Xbox, at least. For me, Kazuya is the most easy to fight when I use Raven, Jin, Lili, Asuka, "Veganov", Miguel, Julia, Anna, Nina, Heihachi, Steve, Alisa, and Lee.

The gameplay is so cheap an unfair!(I'm more of a 2D fighter gamer) Opponent gets you on the air or on the ground you're done for! @CaribbeanZeldaFan You can go to tekkenzaibatsu.... Its Tekken is about setups mind games and patience. You have to know when to tech-roll or how to get up, thats where the mix-ups come in at.

@CaribbeanZeldaFan i know this is like 2 weeks later..but if ur still trying to play it yes you have to kind of work at it..the website this guys referring to for you to learn..you would probably find it boring and leave since its for the hardcore tekken fans..if ur just playing casually with ppl then you should pick a character you like and look at combo videos of them learn the moves used and then when u get the hang of it create ur own combos..only takes about 30 minutes to get a combo down

@CaribbeanZeldaFan Other fighting games are like checkers, exchanging one move at a time. Tekken more like chess... more mind games played. pre-emptive strikes, irreversable errors and strategy with very good tactics are to be taken into account before playing a good opponent. I prefer the juggles (I mean who put you in the air in the 1st place? You don't get hit unless you wasn't evading or blocking. Most hits occur on counter or being out smarted so its pretty much your fault if you lose)

@CaribbeanZeldaFan Most of those combos are actually not as long as they seem, you just have to know how to escape them, like rolling to the side or quick rolling, etc. or even sometimes just by laying still on the ground and wait for the right moment =)
@CaribbeanZeldaFan i feel your pain but I love tekken. here is my take on it. when people get you in the air and juggle its like getting hit with a big hay maker and what you have to do, is defend yourself from them just like any fight. seriously, think about it, the characters in tekken can take alot of hay makers to the face in the game and not be knocked out, so what can substitute the effects of a real life hay makers for the characters in tekken, a good juggle.

No one can teach you how to play. Just spend a lot of time in Practice mode, master the skills of 2-3 characters and try to get some sweet nukin' combos out, so you have some hard combos during you fights. The rest is all chance. Like mentioned, mindgames. As you might notice, some characters have quite some sweet tricks up their sleeves for defence and evasion purposes. Master these and just have fun :)

I dont know why, but I love to use Raven. He sucks in many aspects but still I love him. He is just so bad ass, and I never get bashed at when losing with him. People just say that its cool that SOMEONE uses him after all those laggy Eddy, Zafina and Lili whores. Raven is PRO
he’ll never stand a chance against an experience jin,bruce,lei,baek, and hwoarang( I know that hworang n baek stlyes are similar but their low attacks arent…..dont be a dush) .these fighters can be very dominating because they have great amount of combos and great low attacks to keep their opponent guessing. Its time for an upgrade don’t you think guys..

Raven isnt really meant to be the combo type he is more focused on confusing the enemy. Now i think thats the reason raven can be so difficult. It can be easy to pull off combos but its harder to confuse your enemies.
raven attacks are still an unsafe. Raven is in desperate need of combos….its been 5 years come on now. He needs counters that wont put him in danger ….the death above( back back 2) counter can be block and the sixth sense is always a gamble Raven needs and effective counter like asuka’s. Raven needs more frames to stay in control of his opponent and for the love of god a mixture of middle to low or high to low. Next tekken, They need To concentrate PURLY ON COMBOS or ....
Since tekken 5, i only play with raven( 5 year to date). This video is great but you have to remember these are juggles and thier in practice mode. Its diffucult to pull this off in the heat of battle. Anyone can juggle but what about basic gorund combat or haze munuevers or using ravens attacks safely. Im study raven very closly. Ive studied the distance for each attack and set ups for another. I know every attack and its damge. I know all frames,combos,2 hit, traps but ....

... You know this is just a Combo vid, right? Ease off the Hatorade fam... Sheeesh. The funny thing about it is that I feel the same way you do but I wrote it in the TZ Raven forums where they belong. Btw, I've done about 80% of this stuff in actual matches (casuals/tournaments/etc), so it is possible to pull this stuff off in actual game play. Me and DS360 are just trying to maximize Raven's possibilities if that's ok with you. Like it or not, THIS is the new standard.
Nice combos,not too many REAL Raven players out there. I'm one,got a friend in Texas thats one, and I can see you guys are too. When you play Raven you gotta be great to shut the nay sayers up. Gotta try out the combos from vermillion.
@mister362 you know the biggest problem is the throw happy noobs out there that I encounter... Raven is so compatible in this game. they've fixed quite a few of his flaws and added some good tech traps for him as well. What I can't do with him is some good juggles. basically 70 or 80 that's all the damage I can do without a wall at best and I am dead sure that there is more to it. Nice to see some kick ass ravens thought mate. Kudos to you guys

*sigh* Tekken fans I need help! My GF loves Tekken... But I don't see it... The gameplay is so cheap an unfair!(I'm more of a 2D fighter gamer) Opponent gets you on the air or on the ground you're done for! And there's nothing one can do about it! -_- Can anyone tell me whats the appeal? And while you're at it... Could you give me some tips and/or some site that teaches me how to play?

@CaribbeanZeldaFan You can go to tekkenzaibatsu.... Its Tekken is about setups mind games and patience. You have to know when to tech-roll or how to get up, thats where the mix-ups come in at.

He uses Lili... I use Raven... Could you send me the url to where I can learn to play? Can't find it on the site you told me...

@CaribbeanZeldaFan Tekken is all about concentration. One wrong move or a simple mistake can cause half your life. That's why many people play this game, for this is where the trill is.
So if you say things like, Streetfighter/Mortal combat is better, then you can just suck my dick because those games are pointless exchange of punches.

That's bad! Its unfair and unbalanced... 2D fighters(not MK... Thats overrated) Are more fair and balanced... Not to mention faster and it has better combos and they're fun to pull of... Either way I still have to learn how to play(you know... my gf...) Soooo you gonna help or not?

@CaribbeanZeldaFan i know this is like 2 weeks later..but if ur still trying to play it yes you have to kind of work at it..the website this guys referring to for you to learn..you would probably find it boring and leave since its for the hardcore tekken fans..if ur just playing casually with ppl then you should pick a character you like and look at combo videos of them learn the moves used and then when u get the hang of it create ur own combos..only takes about 30 minutes to get a combo down

@CaribbeanZeldaFan Other fighting games are like checkers, exchanging one move at a time. Tekken more like chess... more mind games played. pre-emptive strikes, irreversable errors and strategy with very good tactics are to be taken into account before playing a good opponent. I prefer the juggles (I mean who put you in the air in the 1st place? You don't get hit unless you wasn't evading or blocking. Most hits occur on counter or being out smarted so its pretty much your fault if you lose)

@CaribbeanZeldaFan Most of those combos are actually not as long as they seem, you just have to know how to escape them, like rolling to the side or quick rolling, etc. or even sometimes just by laying still on the ground and wait for the right moment =)

@CaribbeanZeldaFan i feel your pain but I love tekken. here is my take on it. when people get you in the air and juggle its like getting hit with a big hay maker and what you have to do, is defend yourself from them just like any fight. seriously, think about it, the characters in tekken can take alot of hay makers to the face in the game and not be knocked out, so what can substitute the effects of a real life hay makers for the characters in tekken, a good juggle.

No one can teach you how to play. Just spend a lot of time in Practice mode, master the skills of 2-3 characters and try to get some sweet nukin' combos out, so you have some hard combos during you fights. The rest is all chance. Like mentioned, mindgames. As you might notice, some characters have quite some sweet tricks up their sleeves for defence and evasion purposes. Master these and just have fun :)
My fav is Yoshimitsu. ;) Tekken = plain cool!

I dont know why, but I love to use Raven. He sucks in many aspects but still I love him. He is just so bad ass, and I never get bashed at when losing with him. People just say that its cool that SOMEONE uses him after all those laggy Eddy, Zafina and Lili whores. Raven is PRO

he’ll never stand a chance against an experience jin,bruce,lei,baek, and hwoarang( I know that hworang n baek stlyes are similar but their low attacks arent…..dont be a dush) .these fighters can be very dominating because they have great amount of combos and great low attacks to keep their opponent guessing. Its time for an upgrade don’t you think guys..

@seemysickside Ive seen you on the leaderboards for xbox 360 so i know you know what your talking about and i agree. Raven isnt really meant to be the combo type he is more focused on confusing the enemy. Now i think thats the reason raven can be so difficult. It can be easy to pull off combos but its harder to confuse your enemies.

raven attacks are still an unsafe. Raven is in desperate need of combos….its been 5 years come on now. He needs counters that wont put him in danger ….the death above( back back 2) counter can be block and the sixth sense is always a gamble Raven needs and effective counter like asuka’s. Raven needs more frames to stay in control of his opponent and for the love of god a mixture of middle to low or high to low. Next tekken, They need To concentrate PURLY ON COMBOS or ....

Since tekken 5, i only play with raven( 5 year to date). This video is great but you have to remember these are juggles and thier in practice mode. Its diffucult to pull this off in the heat of battle. Anyone can juggle but what about basic gorund combat or haze munuevers or using ravens attacks safely. Im study raven very closly. Ive studied the distance for each attack and set ups for another. I know every attack and its damge. I know all frames,combos,2 hit, traps but ....

... You know this is just a Combo vid, right? Ease off the Hatorade fam... Sheeesh. The funny thing about it is that I feel the same way you do but I wrote it in the TZ Raven forums where they belong. Btw, I've done about 80% of this stuff in actual matches (casuals/tournaments/etc), so it is possible to pull this stuff off in actual game play. Me and DS360 are just trying to maximize Raven's possibilities if that's ok with you. Like it or not, THIS is the new standard.

@mister362 you know the biggest problem is the throw happy noobs out there that I encounter... Raven is so compatible in this game. they've fixed quite a few of his flaws and added some good tech traps for him as well. What I can't do with him is some good juggles. basically 70 or 80 that's all the damage I can do without a wall at best and I am dead sure that there is more to it. Nice to see some kick ass ravens thought mate. Kudos to you guys
