1971 was the year for decompression. If you find yourself a set of heads from a 1968 ,69 ,or 70 with a four barrel you will have big valves and about 10 to 1 compression ratio and a lot more power I also changed my camshaft to 280 degrees duration and was able to turn 6500 rpm . be careful if you turn that kind of rpms with a high volume oil pump cause the oil has a hard time getting back down in the pan and you will run out of oil to the pump and spin a bearing.
