interesting too, how this points to the later stuff Big Audio Dynamite did,.. and a blending of the dub/reggae echo plex melding, compare this to "Cheat" and you see why these guys were so freakin' awesome! They developed in two directions at one time!

@castorsia There are many, many albums that Eye love, by many, many artists, but if there were only time to listen to one for one last time, my choice would be 'Sandinista!'.
I am old. I went out with someone who worked with The Clash, and I was best friends on the road with Gaby, who later had Joes daughters, Jazz and Lola. My boyfriends favorite song was this one.
I have always loved the airy, floating sound of this song. Paul's simple bass line really drives this song. Throw in a sax and some steel drums and you have yet another Clash (should have been) classic.
Great song, like to listen to it whenever I´m up late nights or feeling down. Beautiful song.
There are so many underrated Clash songs. Lots of people think The Clash is just London Calling, Rock the Casbah and Should I Stay or Should I go. While those songs are certainly a great part of the Clash, there are so many other, different songs, most incredible good, and even some really bad ones, like Mensforth Hill (what the hell is up with that song anyway?).
@AppoCC119 You are so absolutely correct about the three songs you cite (I'd throw "Train in Vain" in there as well). It saddens me that so many of my contemporaries know the Clash only as "that sort of political band that sang, what was that song, 'Stand by me La-la-la-la'?" So sad....
Eye am fifty-three and was so fortunate to see them 13 times and talk to Joe sometimes. If I ever have to go to Texass or back to Pluto and can only take one album, make mine "SANDINISTA!"
On 22/12/2002 Joe Strummer disappeared and joined the street parade
what a song

Love this song. To me this song represents the core message of what the Clash was actually trying to tell its audience. Truly mesmerizing.

There isn't a single Clash song, studio or live, that I haven't heard many times...and this is my all-time favorite.
