I was with my grandfather, and i accidentally said something about WWII then he just started crying, i was curious why but then i remembered he is a veteran and i felt his pain... he and 5 friends helped.. 3 of them died... i feel so sorry for bringing that up :(
@xXFableFanXx I'm so sorry to hear about how much pain the memories bring him, but I'm so pleased at how understanding you were. Some people simply have no comprehension and are rude and callous in the face of trauma. But you should be commended for being such a compassionate soul.
@hewittdj1 LCol for Canadian, LTC, LtCol, or LT Col/Lt. Col. for American is the semantic distinction. However, they are generally used interchangeably in history texts irrespective of country, and Lt. Col is the form most civilians are familiar with.
Very good. The "Gods and Generals" soundtrack is one of my favorites, and I've used it as background music for videos myself. And it is important that we never forget the sacrifices of our forebearers. "War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse." John Stuart Mill
HOW can we as human beings, who hold the power to become smarter day by day ever believe that WAR is the best answer to any problem. I rather be inprisoned than go to war.

I am honored to have a relative of John McRae post a comment on my video. You must be proud to have such history in your family.

Just a thought: "Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it." -Mark Twain

There's two interesting quotes/slogans having to do with your post:
"If war is the answer, we're asking the wrong question."
and "What if they had a war, and nobody came?"

Thanks for sharing these two beautiful slogans.
