  • just 2 HD 6870's will pull 70+ FPS in crysis maxed...

a GTX 580 gets about the same.

  • @Bladeworkssystems LOL u know anything about hardware?? HD5970 is better than gtx580, it is much hotter so gtx580 is better deal but hd5970 has better frame rate. HD5970 is much better than my gtx560ti SLI and that is better than hd6870cf

  • @m4ht1sonni Actually. both a HD 5970, and HD 6870 crossfireX is faster then a GTX 580.... Idiot.

  • Nvidia obviously "looks" much better than ati on screen. but looks worse on benchmark

  • thas why Maxishine never get the Second 5970 for quadfire

because is Crap and will never beat 3way Sli 480

  • Comment removed

  • Well Ati gives gud perfomance n nvidia gives better quality

  • @980Mohid how does nvidia give better quality? It's all the same graphics settings. The only reason it looks different is because it was filmed with a camera instead of screen capture software. It even says so in the beginning of the video "Do not compare picture quality between both cards from this video! A camera was used to film at different times, both games have nearly identical image quality."

  • @pilotenhandboek SORRY looks like i missed those parts

  • crysis + xigmateks xtremefx + extreme immersion mod + triple monitor. SHOW ME THAT! 30 fps +

  • GTX480 Looks better :)

  • 1920-1080

  • in Crsys WH

  • i have an ati hd 4890....all setings on high.....my fps 30-40

  • @conover2006 What resolution?

  • Again 2 gpu card

  • You sir! Has a bottleneck somewhre...

  • @Cursecut3r Joking xD

  • does crysis really use that much of the card!?

  • @Djcrazy32 most demanding game today, maybe bf3 will beat it, but i doubt it

    for constant 60-80 fps, you will ned 2xhd6990 (crossfire, 8gb gddr5 VRAM), a good quad core cpu (i5 2500k), 4 or 6gb ddr3 ram

  • @marfg12345 if you don't know shit don't comment, a single GTX 580 was used on BF3 and it gets 60 FPS. so a 5970 could most likely get over 50 if not over 40

  • @Thryack maybe you didn't understand me, internet benchmarks say 60fps, which means it's gets to 60, but will drop under it quite a lot

i was saying CONSTANT 60-80 fps, so no droping below those numbers

  • @marfg12345 what you are saying is you need crossfire 6990 to play bf3? thats more than enough for 6 monitors.

  • @Thryack i don't see where i said "you need 2x6990 to play bf3"

i was talking about crysis, you need 2 x 6990 for constant 60-80fps on 1080p or higher maxed 4aa

and no, you don't need 2x6990 for bf3, one hd5870/6950 will be able to max out the game smooth.

  • @marfg12345 you mentioned bf3 my bad, and a 6990 is enough unless you're using eyefinity..

  • I dont understand? Whit both cards you can play games? :D

  • again 6990 is a 2 GPU card...2 580s in SLI is to GPUs....and beat that 6990

    hahahahah

  • I've a i7 930 @ 2,8Ghz in combination with a GTX480 ... same results ... you don't need a PC like that to run games like mafia 2, crysis, gta 4, dead space 2, dirt 2, and so on.

  • 480 in alot of money

  • where do you get the money from? O__O

  • it's tough to compare the two when there so different, i'm talking two chips vs one. I wonder what would happen if nvidia put two chips on their card.

  • @prmayner It would overheat.

  • @prmayner explosion XD

  • @prmayner 2 Nvidia GPU's? Well, first you'd need to wear an asbestos jumpsuit just to turn it on. If you played for more than an hour, the sun's solar flare activity would increase exponentially, engulfing our world. There's a reason Nv isn't making dual GPU's., It's just not practical, they'd fry your PC in no time.

  • @Moneyman462

Lol no it's the Asus ARES

  • you have a 2 gpu card and a 1 gpu card..try puting two 480 ..def the 2 nvidia 480 will run beter du

  • @conover2006 doesn't matter, now there's a radeon HD 6990, which powns all Nvidia Graphic cards

  • @dachoisu1234 o.O

i think you don't get it at all.... 6990 is again a DUAL GPU card

and the gtx 580 is a SINGLE GPU card....

you can't compare them to each other......

(only if you would take the gtx 580 in SLI --> Dual GPU vs. Dual GPU)

  • @lorin1996 thats why you compare the 590 to the 6990

  • @dachoisu1234 gtx590 gets 6fps more with no AA but 6990 gets 3fps more with AA

  • @marioluigi321 what setting of AA?

  • @fuge805 8x its 3, 16x its 7 and IDK about 32x but these were the settings on crysis. so 7fps on crysis is a big deal to some people.

  • @99BikeFag Why ur seeling such a Monster? Can't to get yourself the New Upcoming Radeon 6990?

  • i have 70 fps with my geforce6150 overmegaclocked

  • @Numeriwar on tetris.

  • Pretty amazing how the GTX 480 is just a nose behind the RADEON HD 5970, although the HD 5970 has two GPU's. Well, nVidia does have an advantage here since Crysis was built mainly for the nVidia architecture.

  • lol my 6870 gets 30 to 60 frames on full setting 1920x1080

  • @tezpokemonmaster lol 30 - 60 fps

  • @thaandiesel how is that lol..... 30-60 FPS on crysis is good.... ITS CRYSIS

  • @XWatchLearnX i agree, but its such a big gap. i dont think not a single card can run this game at 60 or even 50 fps constant, was just thinking out loud, my b.

  • @tezpokemonmaster he overclocked

  • I don't get why my radeon hd 5770 can get like 30 to 40 FPS in Crysis. Probably because my screen only goes up to 1280 by 1024 and I turn AA off.

  • @1337RussianCoDPlay3r i get avg 50 with the 5770 on 1280x1024 4xAA (PII X4 955,HD5770,2x2024 G.Skill Ripjaws)

  • @4Orange2Bud0

I have that spec exactly but I dunno your motherboard. Mine is an Asus m4a785td-v evo motherboard.

  • @1337RussianCoDPlay3r ASUS M4A79 Deluxe (best fps rates from all tested mainboards 2010)

  • @4Orange2Bud0

Ok, so the only real thing that sets our systems apart is your motherboard

  • I get AT LEAST 30 FPS on my GTX 460. =/ Hm, I guess the drivers had more time to develop.

  • GTX480 it`s coldest but loss 5-10 frames

  • lol funny guys the gtx 480 is single gpu 5970 is dual gpu why pay more wen its only 8 frams at most

  • @stefanhehe1

Because it has to be 30 fps or more to be playable which the GTX 480 doesn't achieve. Plus, the 5970 is dual 5850s which means it will annihilate the GTS 480 in other games. Plus the 5970 is actually cheaper than the gtx 480. That is, on Ebuyer.

  • <----- goes to buy HD 5970 XD

  • Not anymore they aren't... GTX480 is ~£260, the 5970 is about double that. The benchmark still isn't fair.

  • This is such a stupid benchmark, a 5970 is a dual-chip gpu, a 480 is not.

  • @asagpol yah but there around the same price.

  • i dont think ati is great,my ati hd mobil. 5470 runs 3dmark 06 at first graphic test only at 6 ~8 FPS but NVidia 8600 GT have 20~25 FPS at the graphic test. (I,m not Nvidia fanboy)

  • what resolution?

  • THOSE SCREEN CARDS ARE EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE HOLY ****

  • fake

  • @thedeather5 how is this fake

  • @ColdTurkey440 i think nvidia is better than ati cuz nvidia can play 3d

  • @thedeather5 lol 3d is a fad thats going to die

  • lol это чё за фпс, я под столом хДДДДДД

  • @gamer1337omg hahaha svensk ;)

  • lol

gforce has only 20-30 fps but it looks better cause the contrast of both are different

  • And imagine that Crysis is designed for nVidia cards... :P

  • @GamerAndReviewer but it's like comparing a car with two engines to one that has only one :D

  • @newgenerationisbg Yeah, I know and I think if 5970 had 1 core GTX 480 would be the winner at every game! But GTX 480 is hotter and needs much more power to work...

  • @GamerAndReviewer the 5970 is 2 cutdown 5870's they perform the same as 2 5850's

  • @GamerAndReviewer 8600 works for me for now :P

  • @newgenerationisbg i understand what you mean but a car with two engines would suck xD the weight of it would kill it and it would be incredibly hard to make it work ^^ just saying.

  • @NarowAR07 there are lots of 2 engined cars on youtube that drives fine

  • @robiniroven haha i must see that X)

  • @NarowAR07

watch this audi with two engines

    /watch?v=AOuaAzCujHo

  • These cards are designed for dx11, so why use old benchmarks????

  • @Lynx2171 Cause Crysis still fucks every card! :D

  • Comment removed

  • How is the fps that freaking low for both cards? The 6870 has about 50 fps average, maybe even more. So..wtf?

  • @JoDaddyy dude no they don't maybe the 6870 CF does MAYBE but i think that is more around 40-45 fps...

  • the fps cant be that low man

    anandtech[dot]com/bench/Product/165?vs=158

  • it is running as smooth on my gtx 295....

  • @xxxxxxzellerxxxxxx not at 2560x1600though lol

  • In this particular test the 5970 wins by quite a margin but how would it do with AA/AF maxed out?

  • gtx 480 should of win with msi afterburner

  • the brightness are darker on the GTX. You guys have to configure the exact same brightness for the viewer to compare the ingame graphics.

  • Wow, the GTX 480 didn't have playable framerates. THAT'S APPALLING.

  • Man you guys are just basing off frames per second... I'm basing off both image quality and frames per second. I favour the GTx 480... It's 1gpu, d11x, very timid and incredible sharp imagry... the 5970 gives glares and has pretty decent sharpness... if you're taking about no v sync, max anti sopt, and mid aliasing... I prefer to max out those, play l4d2, and use gtx 480... enough said now

  • @MrNappy1221 There is NO difference in picture quality whatsoever = the game's settings will only change the visual quality.

  • 10 fps diference 2 cards vs 1 its awesome nvidia rocks

  • @cobrastomas With dual 480s you only get a 7FPS increase at the most.

  • @TimmyTubularr wrong i have dual and i get double frames

  • @TimmyTubularr I had dual 480s (for 4days until they heat corrupted their on baord VRAM and the heat destroyed my Rampage III mobo) The SLi scales very well indeed. The 480s have massive issues (Heat, noise, power etc) but SLI isnt one of them

  • @cobrastomas U`r mom rocks

  • @n0f3aR629 ye thx, but ur dad's ass rocks even better!

  • make a comparison on something the gtx480 is made for...

like tessellation then you can watch your hd 5970 get smashed ;)

  • @R0flc0pter1000 nvidia sucks ati's cock!

  • @NYCityBoy718 if you pay the gtx 480 enough money it does whatever you want it to ;) Mainly showing perfect graphics but I think it would do that too :P

  • @R0flc0pter1000 nvidia is going down the shitter as we speak, especially with that last stunt they pulled, now theyre being sued for tens of millions of dollars for manufacturing and selling faulty GPUs and knowing about it!!!! yeah, they rock! pfft!

  • this is fucking bias. 480 vs a dual gpu card?

wait for Mars II from asus.

  • @nik6069 for real....n the nvidia is still keepin up

  • @gamer1337Sweden FTW!

  • I m not a big fan of AMD but they make great Graphic cards and the price is a tick lower if you have an ATI in your pc you have good fps , good performance and FUN !

  • But ATI has no PhysX etc...

  • do a comparison when (or if) a gtx 495 comes out

  • @EMKshadow

Even if 495gtx came out, it still cannot beat 5970 HD Toxic lol.

  • @gamer1337omg Russia?

  • The 5970 is a Dual-Gpu card, can't be compared.

  • @gamer1337omg same here i live in the u.s but i keep the house 65 degrees in the winter and i stay in my room sleeping

  • is there twe 5970 gpu's?or is it just because it has to proccessors??cause i see 2 temperatures...

  • I have done alot of research on

Nvidia Vs Ati .... and i found that,

Ati is all about Performance ... It means that it will give u better fps than Nvidia's.

On the Other side, Nvidia is about Graphics Quality and Clearity ..... It will provide u More realistic Image, even in medium grphic settings than Ati's High settings .... U can also compare Video quality in this video .... So, my recommendation would be Nvidia, If U love Realistic Graphics, and Ati if u want more fps .

  • @MrBilal853 dude it's the other way round your research failed. Like really.

  • @MrBilal853 nvidia also has a sidedown of short lifespan and higher temperatures

  • @MrBilal853 I am glad that you at least know something. ATI architecture is unable to preform the same operations as Nvidia architecture. Nvidia is designed for accuracy and not speed. It is ment to take its time to deliver better quality than speed. Which is why it took so long to come out with its 400 series cards. Lets also not forget that this video is comparing a dual GPU card to a single GPU card. If you tweak the Crysis settings properly it will run about the same on these same cards.

  • @MrBilal853

    quality and clarity?

    games look the same

  • Comment removed

  • LOLZZ... I go for 2Gb OC' edition ( 256bit +256bit )HD 5970 only for AUS$ 685.50

    than Nvidia GTX 480 EVGA AUS$ 573.23

I dont like the way temperature rise ..............Nvidia

this time i change my video card into Radeon

  • GTX480=BEST SINGLE GPU !

    AT 5970I=BEST DUAL GPU

IF YOU MAKE A DUAL GTX480, IT WILL OWN THE ATI 5970

    SO STOP COMPARE!

THUMPS UP IF YOU AGREE ;)

  • @TheMusiccworld and the temperature would be? the amount of power would be ? is it really worth that for some fps more ? I think they compare them after the price.. sure it will be better but ati is giving out 6xxx I think, they give their products first.. and also many games are optmised for NIVIDA

  • @TheMusiccworld thumb down

  • @TheMusiccworld

Dual GPU GTX 480 would explode.

  • the prices actually arent the same as before .... in germany the gtx 480 only costs about 340€ (474$)and the hd5970 about 800€ (1115$)

    so nobody buys a 5970

  • @Stefan010796 So true, GTX480 keeps up with a single GPU compared to a dual GPU card and the 480 as you said, is much cheaper in most European countries (i live in sweden and theres a huge difference between the 5970 and the 480. 480 ftw untill 5970 drops in price =,(

  • Geez all i hear is the 5970 has 2 gpu's and the gtx 480 has 1, so u cant compare them..blah blah blah so sick of hearing that. dont you read the beggining of the video it clearly states that "this test is about comparing the BEST each side has to offer." well there u have it, ATI's best vs Nvidia's best.... end of story. Nvidia could have made a dual GPU card, not with the gtx480 though as i think it would melt, but MAYBE with the specs of a gtx 460 or gtx470....

  • @wezmilan

It is all about what each card has to offer, not what is inside. For me ATI is a winner, even if it has got 10 GPUs inside and Nvidia just one. Also power consumption from Nvidia is so High that is probably why they cannot handle 2 GPUs on one card :)

  • Comment removed

  • I'll pay for the quality performance that ATI just put out there. Aside from the fact that Nvidia ran cooler I can always cover that up with liquid cooling. I'm switching to ATI. :-)

  • ati was ~10fps ahead of the nvidia and it ran ~1-2*C cooler = ABSOLUTE WIN

  • Ati cards = Blue screen :). Sry ati fan boys

  • @reimon14

    What does that even mean?

  • @reimon14 then you wake up and realize that no ati gets BSOD.. good fight fag

  • doesnt matter if u are comparing a 2 gpu card with a single gpu card, you just need to compare cards with similar price! This is a ture comparison! ATI has better performance, less power comsumption, runs cooler and has beter price/performance!! Maybe nvidia has better performance running in SLI, but who needs SLI?.....

  • @p4l4c3 on thank i rather have 2 nvidia cards that on ati and for the other ppl saying the ati 5970 is in the same prise rang no it is way more

  • @20GeneStarwind20 ati 5970 costs about 590€, gtx 480 - 540€, ati 5870 - 365€, gtx 460 - 190€.....gtx 480 is not comparable with the ati 5870 which is more than 100€ cheaper...

yeah, its to better have two gtx 460 in sli instead a 5970, the performance is similar and is cheaper! I didnt know that two gtx 460 in sli were so good!

  • @p4l4c3 im sorry im in the usa and the 5970 is $599.99 and the 280 is $439.99 so yes the 480 is way cheaper in the usa

  • Hehe.That`s not a true comparison.While the 5970 has 2Gpu`s the GTX 480 has 1.Try to put a Gtx 480 in Sli,and then compare,i bet it`s better than Ati.And i`m not a nvidia fan:)

  • @Whit3T33r0r this can be done but i think ull need to put 2 PSU in sli also

  • @Whit3T33r0r single slot card??

  • @Whit3T33r0r

Its not about whats inside. Its about the price range.

    Cheapest 5970 is 520 bucks

Cheapest gtx 480 is 440 bucks

If you compare SLI 480s with the 5970 thats gonna cost ya 900 bucks.

  • Even my HD4350 card is better than this 480 shit when it is fully overclocked.

  • I want to see the comparison with both cards @ 6010x1080 over 3 monitors.

  • nvidia has much natural colors maybe because of camera

  • shea the 5970 is GREAT lol gtx 460 sli same performance and save a ton of $

  • hehe...ATI 5970 Crossfire vs GTX480 no SLI and onli 10 fps better. :D:D

  • @hotwheels1997

No, the 5970 is a dual gpu card.

  • is this the game that brings every graphics card in doggy style position?

  • Wonder what the fps are whit GTX 480 in 4 way SLI vs. a ATI 4850 x)

  • @SyntoxStudios 4850? vs 4 gtx 480's? LOL what kinda contest is that??

  • wtfroflmaobbq? The 5970 is a dual gpu card and is in a completely different price bracket. And the 480 keeps up with it fairly decent. Ati fan boy's- you've been served.

  • @Seriouslynovae yeah cuz they had to delay it for half a year LOL.

  • @Seriouslynovae im not a an ati fan boy, but im in favor of the 5970 for obvious reasons... around the same price (give or take 100 dollars).. but way better performance in almost every game. worth paying a little more for better performance. you could upgrade in the future for dual 5970s.. but i would have to say, if you have the extreme cooling and the money.. ive heard tri sli 480s would own dual 5970s..

  • @Seriouslynovae No not really. We're comparing the best card's from either company. So tbh Nvidia got served. If the GTX480 was put into a dual card then the temperature would be riddiculous, which is why Nvidia haven't done it. Notice how both cards run at same temp, even though 1 card has 2 cores.

  • 45$ for about 10 more frames and FPS range of 61-18? I don't think so ATi, I stay with nVidia. Seriously, I don't care that ATi has more of something, and nVidia has less of something, as games work smoothly istead of jumping from 60 to 15 FPS, which creates the feeling that the game gets laggy/choppy.

  • 2008= ATi released the 4000 series vs rebranded 9800 series. Nvidia released the 200 series later.

2009= ATi released the 5000 DX11 series vs 200 series and nvidia are not ready to compete because fermi is delayed. In November ATi released the king 5970

2010= Finaly Nvidia released the 400 series but they are very delayed because ATi anounced in November the 6000 series and Nvidia still cant beat the 5970

    Dec2010 = Nvidia can't beat a single 6870....

Year by year Nvidia cant compete....

  • @Jefneurotoxin Fellow in every other Maxishine reviews it has been stated , ATI 5970 Lags in the end of the videos ex:2033 etc . Not because the 5970 is slow , in fact is a very fast card . But because has the Best FPS and the worse FPS in the same game , which does not make the game smoth

On the First Crysis the 5970 has a good Max 61fps and a Crap Minimum 18fps , which creates the impression the game is lagging badley when it jumps from 61fps to 18 fps
