Bhojpur, a town in Eastern Nepal is most famous for its khukuris. Historically it is a part of Majh Kirat(middle Kirat) consists mainly of Bhojpur and Khotang districts, the traditional home of the Rai people. Better known as the Bhojpuri, the Khukuri made in this village is famous for thick blade where as Sirupate, the most famous khukuri in Nepal is very slim and thin. The British officers select khukuris made only in Bhojpur for the Gurkha armies.
