70s was rock (Zeppelin and about every good band ever). 80s had ALOT of that early techno and hair stuff. 90s rocked out with pumkins etc. 2000s was pop dominated so if the pattern continues then it should happen in the next few years. fingers crossed

@The7Evanator I really wouldn't be convinced, not to be bias because I've only witnessed the change in music once.. but the industry seems to be dominated now by promotion. I can't see that changing because they want every penny they can get- I can't see Pop ever being left behind because of that.

They've increased massively too, there aren't just 'a few stand outs' now, like there once was.

I'm not a Pop hater, I just want Rock back with a mix.

I think it's about the music industry, the "fake" fans (a.k.a "hipsters" in the song lyrics), record companies, and basically the music industry as a whole. "Who wants honey, as long as there's money..." This explains the whole emaning of the song, and is saying the music industry doesnt care if its good music or whatever, as long as it produces the money. And the "fake" fans I was talking about, flock to what's "in" and Corgan obviously doesnt seem to like that much...

There are such things as acoustic basses, for example upright acoustic bass (double bass) and acoustic bass like a long scale length guitar. An electric bass sounds good in this mix though, so I think they made the right decision.

@GatewayDXSeries I don't know much about any albums, but "The Smashing Pumpkins" is still around in the sense that "Guns N Roses" is still around. Except The Pumpkins still are much better. But, it's just Billy now D'arcy last I heard became a fan of herion and won't even talk to Billy for whatver reason. Chamberlien last I heard just left, because he just didn't want to do it anymore really. Now they have a young kid named Mike Bryne drumming he is like 20 and wicked talented.
