Does anyone know what the japanese word dakishimete means in English, I hear it in this song and in several X Japan songs too? When I look up the English lyrics to this song I see different versions which is not helpful. Thanks to anyone who can help me figure it out.
It should be the latter because LUNA SEA almost always have English song titles. Also, if you look at the lyrics, there's one line that says 'ima ijou subete ga kagayakeba ii ne', which means wouldn't it be great if everything shines from now on.
Lunasea originally disbanded briefly for a whole year in 1997 to pursue making solo work for themselves & then came back together in 1998, shortly after hide suddenly passed away. This was only a few years before they disbanded permantly in 2001.

And yeah, the only reason you saw hide there is because they were playing various clips from his music videos and live performances on the stage screen.
