Frank has always had one major weakness, which shows actually less here than normal. He just sucks live. On recordings he is great, not everyone can do it live I guess.

Although he loves a rock beat Frank got bored with straight pop culture a long time ago, in my opinion he plays the songs excellently live but in a different, bluesy style, different again to how he records. He doesn't aim to please with his live performance any more than with his albums; it's just you can listen to an album again and again, after you've read the NME or Pitchfork and consolidated 'your' opinion.
