@Natesmodelrailroad From what I saw on the internet, this machine has a mechanical transmission so increasing the speed from the engine or bigger tires is maybe the only things that could be done, if you have enough horsepower...
@1979Madmat Yeah, they do, I just didn't know what could be done past those you mentioned and gearing up the rear end. I don't have one, though I probably would never need to go much faster than around 20 MPH...silly me.
How about maybe a bit of a lift? About 4" or 5" lift, or so. It'd need widened for stability, though, but that's what I really want to do. Any advice?
i drove one of these into the bucket of a loader at my work a few years ago. busted the whole hydraulic tank at back. needless to say my boss wasnt impressed.
@jerkmcgerkin Many hours of study on the operation of the transmission and elimination of Kubota errors... it's too tricky to make a bolt-on kit. We wanted to do that, but it's too much for us at that time. We give no warranty on that job, but up to now, there's no reliability issues.
That was highly impressive. I really liked that you backed up that hill at the beginning. Then the piles of rock. I kept thinking that you were driving up and backing down. Then at the end you jest went on over like it was nothing. Very nice indeed.
@1979madmat were you able to increase the top speed?

@POWERSPORTS4LIFE No, but with the switch in the HI position, we are sure that we get the maximum speed from the hydrostatic.

Do you guys have the knowledge to at least tell someone how to boost the speed in a Toro Workman HD if someone so desired?

How did you modify the transmission?

Very nice, I really like the reverse modification, I often wondered why kubota didn't do that directly from the factory.

Ausome what all do you have on it?
are the tires an rims in bed cause you needed some extra weight at the rear or just cause thats were u left em
nolatoolguy 2 years ago
There's nothing more than some hydraulic mods in transmission, homemade reverse pedal, and camoplast tracks.
The rims are there just to not forget them when the customer came back to take his RTV.
