  • Very good effects but we want to see Shaolin Kung Fu not inferior arts.

  • We need this guy in boxing

  • What's the relaxing music at the start?

  • i am a disciple of Xiang Xiang Quan for over 30 years. I would like to train as your student when time and opportunity present encounters of destiny this level of life/ Shifu Shi Yan Ming . My name is Salah

  • Great video! Haha I still wear my usa shaolin tank top- more chi! Salute!

  • I love the editing for the kicks, it really makes them look like they're flying.

  • This is wushu.

  • Phenomenal!!! Is that Mr. Roberto Sharpe doing his Thing at 1:08???

  • @TheSilverSurfisher Looks like he's doing Chen Cannon Fist

  • @TheChemicalBassist yeah...Wǒ xǐhuan zhè yīgè..lol!

  • Am i the only one that watched in so much detail that noticed the unhinged jaw flying around at 1:02

  • fuk thats sik

  • Pow! wish it was longer, great stuff, Respect.

  • I like the video, I got a book from sifu Ming. However this video is more a very well directed 'action style' movie. However, there is very little Kungfu in it (outside the original meaning that all of the participants present have practiced real hard to become this good). However, it is a nice vid, showing how all these styles have something in common.

  • Big up Rza respect

  • Holly Fuck!!! thats freaking awesome!!! thats a god >=D

  • WOW just WOW! Was he beautiful, were they beautiful. I was spellbound watching this too short clip. Awesome.

  • @Kungfughost. Wow!! Your comment was some tuff talk tuff tuff talk bout shi yan Ming going back to china and his nothin. The school is on broadway but I seriously doubt he is a show

  • cool dance. where's the art of war again? Are they fighting or dancing? :-]

useful martial arts are boxing, kick-boxing, BRAZILIAN jiu-jitsu, wrestling and muai thai.

karate, kung-fu, taekwondo and capoeira are ineffective compared to those mentioned above

  • 200 kick combo in the air

  • The bearded black guy with the dreads is Roberto Sharpe. Cool guy!!!

  • 0:56 his shoe fell off

  • The music is not worthy of the art,

  • 0:56 did the guy just lose his shoe?

  • aww neat, roberto sharpe

  • RZA AS BOBBY DIGITAL FT. MASTA KILLA & TEKITHA - MANTIS

that's the name of the song ^^

  • blonde girl w nunchucks was AWESOME

  • Brilliantly made.

  • Come on shaolin community! Lets cut back on the breaking qi gong demos and acrobatics. Show me the 18 iron body drills with perfection, show me some pristine stance qi gong. I want solid unedited forms. Sorry for the rant.

  • an awesome display of what the human body is capable of.....

  • The only problem with this amazing art, is that once you begin to fly, it is very hard to land.

  • the most commercial martial art... modern wushu.

  • Is this show out yet?

  • @wespozo This video was shot in 2001. The show was industrial entertainment for corporate events - now over.

  • wish i could levitate in the air and do kick after kick.

  • why is there aikido and taekwondo in that movie?

  • @boehmtj This video is behind the scenes training for a martial arts "show" called "Art of War." Many disciplines were included.

  • @jpgstudio oh ok cool

  • @jpgstudio please could you tell me the name of the song of this video? thank you and i am sorry for wasing your time

  • @zacks1314 Music is Mantis by RZA (Intro music is from Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon soundtrack)

  • @jpgstudio thank you

  • mooaaawr Chi

  • many of those movements did not originally come from Kungfu, right?

  • typically americanized it looks like crap

  • goddamn blackfu montage music. Had to press mute. Cool sifu though.

  • all hail Sifu Ming. buddha be praised.

  • i need to learn this sorta stuff!!!

  • very nice to see. a lot of entertainment and artistic ability. But that shaolin monk demonstration are so boring if we compare with breaking tamae shiwari of a Kyokushin Karate practionner. A black belt in kyokushin karate will send that monk to the moon with a simple kick or punch. Mas Oyama alway said that Wu shu is dancing, no more.

  • @senseixl

'That monk' is a san shou fighter or extremely rare quality. Nothing in this clip shows you that. Mas Oyama's opinion doesn't count for much.

  • @senseixl Where'd you get that Oyama said Wushu is dancing? Can you cite your reference?

  • this video is amazing

we are lucky to have sifu ming in america

  • Really Great video!

  • Anyone know who the woman is twirling the nunchucks?

  • I would do gymnastics if i just wanted to do things on the video

  • forum.russbo.com/showthread.php/3217-Shi-Yan-Ming

  • to all the armchair martial arts masters and other internet 'authorities': It is moving meditation. Nothing more. Nothing less. That is all it has ever been. Taking moving (or sitting) meditation into a ring or otherwise deliberately engaging in gratuitous violence is not what this is about and makes about as much sense as complaining that a banana tree won't produce mangoes... Amituofo-

  • who ever did the editing on this should get a dam medal!!! great job

  • Till I see this used successfully in the cage, or ring, against pro fighters, I'm not impressed. MMa & the combat sports, Boxing, Thaiboxing, Wrestling, Bjj, Judo are where what works and what doesnt work in "real combat".

  • @poohpoohcaca no one is trying to impress you....

there are connections that show that muay thai, bjj, judo, and many more came from kungfu

  • @Bebopchiflow that's not true, nor can you prove it. Please don't repeat this nonsense any more. We really need to start dealing with facts in this day and age and there's no evidence to support that any of the arts that you mentioned come from Kungfu. Karate and Taikwando are both influenced by Kungfu, and there's evidence to back that up, but Muay Thai, BJJ and JUDO? not really.

  • @nomamao Muay Thai may have developed on its own w/o Kung Fu's influence but BJJ and Judo come directly from Shuai Jiao lineage.

  • @poohpoohcaca Forget the cage...see if it works in the streets. You're still watching "sports" where rules apply. No groin shots, kicking to joints chops to the throat, eye gouges, biting. "Real Combat" is anything goes!

  • fanculo tu e l'approvazione del cazzo...

  • This is a show..no martial art!

  • His Kung Fu is strong!

  • These people are really great dancers!

  • -I personally thought that it was a scam when they first started coming to the USA. A marketing ploy to cash in on the kung-fu jet li movie craze. It had to be planned.Even still at this point, what have they really accomplished? They're taking the tkd approach towards commercialization. I agree that kung-fu needs more standardization, but they're going overboard with it.

  • this pepole like dancing hhh

  • I think I saw a documentary on him... he left the temple to show the world about how great Kung Fu is... they explained in a more scientific way how he can do what he does without hurting himself. I take Shaolin Kempo and totally love the fluidity of Kung Fu and strength of Karate put together. Awesome video.

  • pls make more music vids sifu, this one always gets me pumped before my qi gong. wish your temple was closer, there's nothing but shotokan and kempo/MMA schools around me.

  • damn great vid

  • I love Shaolin martial arts.

  • How does he have a wife if he's a monk? A kid too?

  • @Whoamazing83 I think this was explained in a documentary about him/Shaolin kungfu. Don't really remember but I think he never was ordained munk. He just stayed there as an apprentice or something. I could of course be wrong. Check wiki or something.

  • nicee vid XD

  • where can i get in touch with this teacher?

  • nice video edditing wu tang wu tang

  • me necanta la fusion entre hip hop y monjes shaolin , movita mucho para la lucha y ademas parece que las tecnicas fluyen por si solas

  • es muy bueno el video

    la cancion no

  • fight. its not all about kick and punch. booo. its a lot more than that. look at the nature and try to understand its rhythm.... there is rhythm in everything. all art forms are good learn to respect, keep your mind open you hillbillies...

  • startd off ass kung fu, then turned into modern day karate then ended wiv a nice tai chi from sifu

  • So this is the nonsense being passed off as kung fu these days? Pathetic.

  • Hahaha, you are right,it reminds me ''FAME'' traillers!

  • Couldn't agree more to be hornest.

  • Sifu doesn't discriminate in lieu of the true tradition. He teaches all who truly wish to learn.

You don't know what you're talking about it, since you're referring to it as "kung fu". It's not fighting, it's a way of life.

  • @ninjaspeak true so true

  • I totally agree

  • wow!

  • REALLY COOL!

  • what is the name of the second song.

  • Mantis by RZA

  • @jpgstudio in the last part what movie is the audio from

  • @ofomatheblackbelt "Invincible Shaolin" (1978)

  • Very nice kung fu moves

  • Great Editing!!! Editor had great material and took it beyond the limit. Excellent in all respects.

  • maybe someone looking at this video can help me out, ive been boxing for two years and am getting very interested in other martial arts and im looking for some of the most effective far eastern fighting styles if anyone has some ideas id appreciate it

  • I reckon wing chun is quite an effective modern style martial art, even though foot work is very difference to boxing, the sticky hand technique will form a perfect defence if you can incorporate with your boxing skills, check out Master Gary Lam's clips on youtube and you'll know what I mean.

  • @MBodi323 i study a kung fu style known as Seven Star Praying Mantis. its known among kung fu styles as being extremely fast. its known in some places as invisible hands and feet style because of its speed.

  • @ginabanadab thats nt very fast, look at wing chun , wing chun is the fastest kung fu style so far ever seen

  • shaolin kung fu :)

Some say that this martial arts is the mother of all martials arts, but that counts for all martial arts.

They get influenced by each other.

i would recommend shaolin kung fu.

  • @MBodi323 wing chun would be good

  • A Shaolin temple's spokesman said that the Shaolin style is lost through the centuries and they have to trace their root from the Japanese Shaolin temple style, the founder of the Japanese style were invited to the temple during the making of the movie "Shaolin temple", from then on the temple is more or less turn into a money making opportunity for many, I have seen "supposedly" Shoalin monks having dinner in a fancy restaurant during their "wheel of life" tour.

  • I guess it has come full circle since Japan got it's MA from China via Korea, lol.

  • The word "Wushu" does mean the way of combat, but it was developed into sports and is not aiming for practicality, traditional Shaolin forms can be found in styles like "Hung Gar" and "Choy Lee Fut" and it is not fancy at all...

  • @jensenf008 only a few styles left, maybe those 2 only

  • muy marketero,,no es muy marcial,pero esta bonito,jajaja

  • thank...

  • the title of rap song please..?

  • beatiful video...rap song please..?

  • I've checked the school out , Shaolin temple is just a trademark now a days, they're only teaching wu shu really.

  • i completely agree with you im learning wushu wich is a modernised version of traditional shaolin kung fu but im learning modern and traditional shaolin wich is wushu

  • I agree that "wushu" is modernised from traditional martial arts, but it totally difference from traditional style, wushu were developed into sports and not aiming for practicality, so it's more fancy, and it's more like gymnastic and even score like gymnastic, if you want to see traditional Shaolin style, look in to "Choy Lee Fut" or "Hung Gar" style, the temple have not taught martial art for centuries, it was brought back in to the western world by Jet Li "Shaolin" movie in the 80's...

  • That was HELLA sick especially the part in the air

  • Lmao was that "mister Sharpe" I seen between the clips? That black dude with the large beard and hippie look, aka "homeless bum look"?

He is a capoeira master. Some vids of him on YouTube. Just goes to show that everyone goes to NY to learn from master Ming. Sanshou only though. Real secrets, chink only.

  • the blond chick with the nunchucks is kind of hot. she can kick the shit out of me any day.

  • Why the retarded music?

  • you are

  • Too true it doesnt go with the footage and its shite!

  • Great video! Well put together good work man!!

  • Bouncing or not, any one of these martial artists could take you out quicker than you could blink.

  • You know I hope to go to Japan and have my black belt earned by 2011. During the training I'm gonna stretch and meditate like the Shaolin advice, in ADDITION to my Karate.

See you in Tokyo then; Shaolin philosophy vs your bullshit.

  • hmm if i were you, loudmouth, i wouldn t underestimate some guys in the clip,e.g. ray dionaldo of sayoc kali.

  • very cool video editing!

  • Hell, yeah, this is awesome.

  • WOW! realy cool

  • nice vid..

  • who is to say that shaolin is only for a certain group of people? everyone is capable of doing these amazing things. you should be happy that Sifu Ming is spreading this beautiful form of art. there are very good concepts that help people become a better person and live their life in amuch better way.

  • @nicholasyounger18 you speak the truth, but Ming is part of his first name. In Chinese the last name is stated first. Yan Ming is his first name.

  • @nicholasyounger18 Today‘s shaolin temple is just a circus , today's shaolin monk is clown . They just use their useless kungfu trick to cheat these fools . Dare he come back to china and call him a master ? of course he dare not , back in china , he is nothing .

  • Well, I agree with you.

But what you see in this video is not "true" shaolin Kung Fu, this is what you see in the movie, people bouncing all around...

  • you do realize the bouncing guys aren't shaolin. Read the video description

  • Reminds me of Dragon Ball Z lol.

  • bad ass vid, i love it.

  • nice tricks.

  • What is the first song? at the beginning?

  • wow amesing

  • wow this is a great mix of martial arts

too bad i live closer to the other shaolin school in flushing, i would enjoy training under sifu ming

  • buena musica como se llama?

  • RZA & Masta Killa "Mantis"

  • Greet Video Sifu Ming

  • What song is this?

  • One day I hope I can train in the NYC temple. reading his book, the shaolin workout, and from the first chapter I thought "I'v egot to meet this man and train at his school" sounds so fulfilling :) Amituofo!

  • Nice Video Shaolin Kung Fu is for all people he wanne learn good spirit Sifu Ming

  • I met him in New York when I attended a Shaolin Kung-Fu institute in Delaware. He was the real deal. No joke the guy was amazing.

  • awesome

  • CrAzY lol u ever seen the real 1ns like him in action?

u got a weapon he got his hands u brake the wood on him lol. they feel no pain wow< they trained thiere body for years u punch them they dont feel nothing im a go in manhatten and find him so he can train me lol than who goin 2 mess wit me? take down heads 2wice bigger than me lol much respect

  • i know where he is i trained with him for a few months

  • does the temple offer sparring if so wat kind of sparring protective gears or no protective gears

  • XD damn these chicks are scary :o

  • pretty... but im skeptical about its practicality. the boring looking shit is usually the stuff that knocks you out

  • very true, but the he teaches wing chun first for 2 reasons. it increases your speed, and all around athleticism, and that the Shaolin temple of china uses it. and that is beside that fact that that is what looks good. Also, i bet Sifu Ming could pull most of that off in a fight due to his skill and speed. meaning it can be practical, just takes more effort. lol.

  • hey they are not all from kung fu

    right? there are also capoeirists...

    and somo of tkd

  • This for a production called ART OF WAR. It was a show that had high level martial artists from various cultures and arts to introduce them to the general public and show how each one requires its own dedication and skill sets. It was to promote a martial artist's positive work ethic and dedication no matter what art. BJJ, Capoeira, TKD, Sayoc Kali, Kenpo, Aikido, etc. Music went from Chinese flute to Japanese drums and hip hop. Many of these individuals never met one another til the project.

  • maaan i sooo want 2 be taught by sifu shi yan ming he's amazing i want 2 progress like all his pupils,

  • nice cutting-

  • Alot of air time. Really amazing show of skill =).

  • rocks

  • Much respect to Sifu Ming.

Excellent editing, even if all of it was not Shaolin.

    Great music too.

    Amituofo.

  • Man I want a Sifu like that.Better would be cool too.

  • he's the only one who would teach non-Chinese people Shaolin

  • you made a kind of a mix with a lot of staff, which many of them were not Shaolin's

very few were sifu shi yan ming's.

    amituofo.

  • yes there is even capoera in this vid, but its a great vid, really like it
