You have to keep in mind that sir George wanted to do something different with those so well-known and loved Beatles songs. I think Céline did a wonderful job covering this song. The tender nuances were captured spot on and the original song honoured so beautifully!
It wasn't bad, she got the best parts in, like harmonies behind 'That love never dies" and a few of the little backdrop riffs that I oh so love.Plus the orchestral arrangement was well done. I prefer the simplicity of the original, but this one is very lovely.
The original is the best...and as much as I hate her, this is probably one of my favorite Beatle covers. This and Anne Murray's "You Won't See Me." Who'd have thought the Canadians would cover the Beatles so well??

well I won't deny that the Beatles has one of the greatest influence on music history and the members(John, Paul, George and RIngo) were all talented musicians, but speaking of vocal and singing quality and emotions, none of them can beat Celine Dion.
I'm a HUGE Beatles fan, kind of indifferent about Celine Dion. I thought this was okay. I'm not sure if it was the way she was singing it or the pictures that were put to this song, but it seemed cheesy. I think it was a combination of both.
Come on guys! I also love The Beatles and no one, NO ONE will beat them or replace them, and let's just admit that this version is beautiful, period. She'll never be Paul MacCartney but I like it, and it's touching like the song has to be.

You have to keep in mind that sir George wanted to do something different with those so well-known and loved Beatles songs. I think Céline did a wonderful job covering this song. The tender nuances were captured spot on and the original song honoured so beautifully!

It wasn't bad, she got the best parts in, like harmonies behind 'That love never dies" and a few of the little backdrop riffs that I oh so love.Plus the orchestral arrangement was well done. I prefer the simplicity of the original, but this one is very lovely.

The original is the best...and as much as I hate her, this is probably one of my favorite Beatle covers. This and Anne Murray's "You Won't See Me." Who'd have thought the Canadians would cover the Beatles so well??

i don't think is not as good, cause is a classic, i think it is beacuse this is overproduced, specifically his voice, the musical arrangement it's truly amazing! and really transmits something, celine make little connection

@Aerosmissive: So what? When the Quarrymen (Lennon, McCartney, and Harrison) covered 'To Know Him Is To Love Him' they did it as 'To Know Her is To Love Her'. Why? Because they were heterosexual, as is Celine.

i think this is terrible. there is no connection. as if she sang this song just for the sake . Sissel Kyrkjebø's version is better. and also the original is the best.

I really like this version ... she is not the beatles ok, but in my opinion, she has a marvelous voice, the song is beautiful.

well I won't deny that the Beatles has one of the greatest influence on music history and the members(John, Paul, George and RIngo) were all talented musicians, but speaking of vocal and singing quality and emotions, none of them can beat Celine Dion.

I'm a HUGE Beatles fan, kind of indifferent about Celine Dion. I thought this was okay. I'm not sure if it was the way she was singing it or the pictures that were put to this song, but it seemed cheesy. I think it was a combination of both.

Come on guys! I also love The Beatles and no one, NO ONE will beat them or replace them, and let's just admit that this version is beautiful, period. She'll never be Paul MacCartney but I like it, and it's touching like the song has to be.
