Awesome tribute. I will show this to my classes each year. My only suggestion would be perhaps to add some subtitles to those areas where it is somewhat difficult to make out what Terry is saying due to the aging quality of the audio from 1981. This would make it a little easier for students to follow along. Terry was saying some great things but it's pretty difficult to make it out at times, especially with the background music. Thank you for the time / effort you put into making this.

Some say that he left us too soon, but sweet beings like Terry Fox aren't meant to spend much time with those of us who are undeserving of his presence. I run a HM every day and it is possible. Running at the pace of Terry is a stress with the artificial leg but it's not heart intensive that's why he could.

He obviously was so much stronger mentally that his body had to fail in order for him to stop. But he didn't stop after all... the Marathon of Hope is STILL being done today.

I am so disgusted that there are rumours that Wayne Gretzky will light the Olympic Torch. Betty Fox, or Terry's brother... should light it. His life has inspired us all, and his feat defines the inspiring character of man. Terry's legacy will live on for eternity... Terry was great because he excelled in two fields. First, he proved that someone could run on a prosthesis (which Steve Fonyo finished) across Canada. (And my own countryman, Jeff Keith proved as well across the United States) Second, that cancer can be beaten (I know a few who have won against the disease). Terry has proven that he is a hero that we need in this day and age of false heroes of North America. He has his place on a coin, let alone a mountain, several schools and statutes.

What I still find incomprehensible is that the three of them knew no French. Shouldn't French be taught in schools? It is the other official language. To get a shower, one only needs a few phrases like "On a besoin de se doucher." or maybe "Nous avons utliser les douches."

Terry Fox is one if not the most inspirational Canadians that ever walked the face of the earth. While attending college in 1977 he had bone cancer in his leg and they had to amputate his right leg a few centimeters above the knee. While going for chemo he was touched by those that were battling the same disease as he was so he decided to run across Canada to help raise money for cancer research. Hes an inspiration to us all and will never be forgotten.

Yes, he had Osteogenic Sarcoma (a very deadly form of bone cancer). It does spread to the lungs. It's hard to get all the cancer out with this sort of cancer.

The exhaust fumes would have accelerated the disease. So many vehicles were accompanying him along the way. That was the mistake. If they were to do it differently like running along less polluted routes, Terry would still be around.
