It`s good that this is on YouTube. JET was good - I was a JET... we were paid well and had respect. Now ALTs don`t get paid well and don`t get respect. One must remember that all ALT`s are university graduates who could get fine jobs in their home countries... our `weakness` is that all have an interest in Japan. For this we are used as cheap labour. I highly recommend joining a union. All `HAKEN` ALT contracts are illegal; you will get a pay-off from the company to keep your mouth shut.
thx for posting this video. i can't believe how alts are treated in japan these days. plus, direct hire is a bitch to find sometimes and you really gotta know the right people and in jet, it's been getting fiercely competitive for many highly qualified applicants to get a position.
and btw, i was surprised that the narrator as i saw in the credits was ohtsuka houchuu, a famous anime voice actor.

It Aired July 17, 2009. It aired on Nihon Terebi (whatever channel that is in your area), on the news report called リアル特集＋ (Real Special Edition+).
