MY SPECIAL DOWNS SYSNDROME SON HAS BEEN HOOKED ON DARK SHADOWS FOR YEARS AND HAD THE PRIVILEDGE OF GOING TO THE 2010 CONVENTION WITH HIS BROTHER.I'VE STOPPED COUNTING HOW MANY VIDEO'S AND DVD'S THAT HE HAS. IT WAS SOMETHING HE WILL NEVER FORGET
@1934liz I can relate to your comment. I am currently and slowly making my way through the entire "Dark Shadows" series on DVD. I've been watching it in chronological order. I'm currently in early July of 1969 or the 1897 storyline: episode 790. It's fun and suspenseful entertainment.
I've never been to a Dark Shadows convention. IF I ever did attend one, I would like to meet Diana Millay and Denise Nickerson.
This is my take on 4 of the main women stars on DS:
1. Victoria Winters-Alexandra Moltke--the human heart and soul of DS--when she was pushed aside for the Barnabas-Julia-Angelique show and eventually pushed out the ethos of the show changed and became the monster of the month (Adam, Eve, various nondescript vampires, zombies, werewolves, etc)
2. Laura Collins-Diana Millay-the neglected original evil supernatural in DS history; the most original and interesting female villein.
Bless you for posting. This was the first festival I attended over the Halloween weekend in 1986. Have some wonderful photos (I was in the 2nd row) but the video footage I taped over the weekend has all but detererated because of my neglect. I was so excited I could barely breathe, of course I was a lot younger then and its funny how time flies. I remember the next morning we went on a tour of the Tarrytown Estate where the movies were filmed. I'll never forget it . Thanks!!!
I attended this Dark Shadows Festival and Lara was enchanting -- as well as all the other attendees. A nicer group of people you'd never meet. DS is still having yearly conventions and they are much anticipated by DS fans across the country. Thanks for posting this clip. Happy memories, indeed!
To echo drunkskunk & myself on the 2008 Lara Parker clip, I had the biggest crush on her as a kid. (Even sent her a fan letter, written in crayon I believe.) And she is still gorgeous - and funny & cool it seems. I love her even more now!
3. Angelique-Lara Parker-the greatest horror actress in TV history as good as Millay, Marie Wallace, and even at times Grayson Hall were, she was simpling incredible in that role--unbelievable eyes on that woman;
4. Maggie Evans--Katherine Lee Scott- pretty, cute, sincere, humane--just a wonderful girl next door who also was underutilized.
Lara is funny. I loved the DS over the top acting style. She always had that intense stare when they cut to commercial which I still get a kick watching.
Dark Shadows will always be an amazing show.
It is good to watch and it never gets old.
The acting was great and Jonathan Frid put it over the top.

does anyone know if Angelique's accent was fake? I thought Lara Parker had a beautiful accent.

Lara's character was one of my favorites. She was the culprit that set the whole Barnabus thing off. Good stuff.

I ... would ... ah, ... DIE to be sitting there listening to Lara speak.
That would be a pinnacle moment in my lifetime.
I will always adore her.
Lucky you, whoever filmed this clip.
Thanks so much for sharing.

@smush48 And what kills me is they always said Angelique had blue eyes - the woman has the most gorgeous grey eyes I've ever seen!
