  • what a great song produced by( rene and angela) ive got the promo copy US, 82 GREAT JANET, YOUNG BOOGIE TUNE, ALGERIA FUNK

  • A very new school Janet Jackson. I caught this on WNEW-TV Metromedia(channel 5) on an early Saturday morning at 1:30am back in October '82 on a black and white tv during my days in the 6th grade at I.S. 52 in The Bronx. Thanks for posting this video clip on here.

  • she was so beautiful it was scary...smh

  • Happy 45th Janet you still look great.

  • Happy birthday May 16th 1966 @Janet.. Much love!

  • OMG!!! I remember seeing this , first run!! Janet was black america's princess! She had FAME going on too! These were the days!!!! Next," Come give your love to me" the next week on American Bandstand!

  • they should remaster & re-release this album. it's very underrated.

  • Janet so cute back in the Days, and now Today so Fine,Damn Janet You Go Girl.I Love you.Keep doing your thing:) no 1 BETTER

  • According to her book, this is the year she lost her virginity to James DeBarge, she was 16 here depending on the month...

  • she was cute back then.what happening?

  • @starfyre05 she went from cute to Beautiful, that's what happened.

  • @dayg715 and from Beautiful to ICON!!!!!!

  • LEGEND !!!!

  • Aww Jan was such a baby! I absolutely love this tune!

  • Go janet,Go janet! I'm not gonna let you use me. I love her!

  • AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW JANET LOOKS SO CUTE! THIS IS MY SONG TOO! YES!

  • It sounds a bit like "Baby Be Mine", I think she's always been inspired by his brother. Go Janet! :)

  • janet's said she's cut her hair real short before 2010. now we see.

  • @TenayaG10 lol, this wasnt what she meant, she means she's cut it SHORRT lol, like very short in the past (the 1995 MTV VMA's), but still this is the shortest it's been since then, Im sure.

  • Jheri curls!! Oh no!

  • I was only 4 when this was released but I would've loved to have been able to follow Janet from the beginning of her music career. I really didn't get into her music until "Pleasure Principle" was released. It was more of an age thing than a dislike for her earlier work.

  • DAMN not one, "You know what I am saying", or "You know what I mean,". Man I love it when latino and black performers did not have to play illiterates or act as if they do not have any sense in order to be accepted or popular. WE REALLY NEED TO GET BACK TO THAT.

  • I heard the album with this song and it was good... i think because it was released the same year as her brother''s monster album it was a bit overshadowed... still a good song and great album nonetheless...what a god blessed talented family

  • He was right, most talented woman in show business.

  • I wish I can go back to time and be on Soul Train.

  • Soul Train is off the chain :)

  • IM NOT GONNA LET U USE ME............I LOVE WHEN SHE SAYS THAT.

  • @TheSAAPHARI My fav line in the song too.

  • @TheSAAPHARI

I love the first line - I may be young but I'm not foolish . I love this song. i have the extended version on my ipod . sounds hot

  • i remember watching this show as a youngin !!! we boz thought she wassssss cute. she had just left different strokes and the show fame.

  • Classic Song...and Great Video clip. The interview had as much energy as a dead rabbit...but loved it nonetheless.

  • she used to look so much like her mother now she's looking more like her father but she's still as beautiful as ever.

  • young janet in her 16 years old, hehehe sooooo cute!

  • love her lil dance

  • This was way before Janet became JANET JACKSON the superstar with her official first album, CONTROL.

  • @elmando5 .....her FIRST OFFICIAL album was released in '82, with YOUNG LOVE having been the first single.

  • im young, but seein this vid made me see all the good music in the 80's most of the music we have now is crap

  • I love her hairstyle during this era. "feathered"

  • love disco

  • this was my jam!!! they don't make classic music like this anymore

  • wow, same sound and movements as michael at that time. watch this and michaels rock with you and u will see her influence

  • janet is so sexy in this era i just would do things to her

  • She's so pretty

  • Whooo Hooo, reminds of the Dico scene and Studio 54, sweat just dripping but never caring as long as the beat was thumping.. Yeeeeeow (good times)

  • I'm about her age in this video, jeez I wish I looked like her, she is so beautiful!

  • hahaha I just saw this on TV.. I swear she looks just like my mom

  • oee luckie i wish my mom looked like janet jackson id get every thing in life

  • Look at those shoulder pads

  • I miss Soul Train and Don Cornelius. This show was why I use to wake up on Saturday mornings, hurry and clean the house, so I could watch tv this and American Band Stand and Solid Gold. I miss those days. I don't see anything wrong with Mr. Cornelius' interviewing skills.

  • @globalwaronpoverty Your comment said it all! I miss those days, too :)

  • She was such a Doll and a sweetheart!

  • is she lip singing

  • EVERYBODY who performs on Soul Train lip synchs, they ont allow live performances

  • @jarrylfo Except when they had bands like Barry White's Love Unlimited and others.

  • @simplythebest40 Pretty much, if you see someone on Soul train with no band, or instrament the odds of it being live is low, but even with some bands they still werent playing (like Klymaxx, etc.), so if there was a band on stage Id say its a 70% chance they were live, but you have some who still werent.

  • @jarrylfo You don't know it all, and what you claim isn't true.

  • @Khultan What isnt? And I hope you can sure prove it.

  • @jarrylfo Ha ha ha...What are you in your 30s? 20s? I was still a baby in the 1970s LOL...You actually don't even check and do research before you make a statement like that?!? Jesus, go back to Soul Train in the early 1970s and you can see acts performing LIVE with instruments and musicians, here's one for ya: Damita Jo Freeman and James Brown. Feed your head. I'm outta here....

  • @Khultan Awww I really hurt your little feelings by saying that everybody lipsynched? Wow, I dont know wheather or not to feel sorry for you or laugh at you, I think its a perfect mix of both. 1st off that was sarcasism saying EVERY SINGLE person on Soul Trains history lipsynched. I know about 8-9 people didnt for about 2 years. Sarcastic or not, more artist/singers lipsynched on there than sang live. Just facts. Stay outta here cause your dumb ass is blocked. Later kid.

  • @jarrylfo Why you no good, ungrateful overgrown brat. I showed YOU up with one example of a band PLAYING LIVE on the Soul Train set to debunk your foolish claim. Oh, NOW, you say it's sarcasm. Whatever. I just did my noble and humble part to pass on information as a public service. Oh, and you're welcome...brat.

  • @Khultan Your the one who came her crying about a comment I made almost a year ago=sad

  • @jarrylfo They did a few times. Luther Vandross and Patti LaBelle sang live on some repeats I saw a few weeks ago from the early 80s.

  • @columbia81 The shows not known for its live singing is my point, the percentage of lip synced performances in this shows history out weigh the live performances over double

  • @jarrylfo Right, I agree. I was just pointing out that there has been live singing on a few occasions.

  • @skinnyminnie2008 Doesn't matter if shes lip singing, its still a good song that is by the same artist. Just enjoy the song, its great <3. It just sucks that theres not still good music like this today. I'm 16 but I grew up to this type of music, I still think its awesome. People don't appreciate great music today, sadly.

  • Go on baby Janet, do it girl.

  • I think this just validates what a horrible interviewer Don Cornelius is!!!!!!

  • Well in all fairness he was pretty old when he did this interview

  • lol

  • @jarrylfo agreed...so that last statement is unfair by iolanik.

  • Wow, what memories....i was 8 years old when this song came out!!

i used to love this song, it was my first time hearing her sing by herself professionally...Angela and Rene produced this and you can hear Angela Wimbushe's background vocals. Great Music from the incomparable Miss Jackson. Thanks for the post sweety!! you are doing your thing!!!!

  • Love the video, thanks for sharing. I miss soul train. The only thing i didnt like about it is every single artist on it lipsyncd'. I love janets first album...but don't mess up this good thing , is the best track on it. Janet uses her pipes on that track.

  • OH HELLLL YEA. Dont mess up this good thing is most def the best song off her first album. I also like you'll never find, and forever yours

  • Thank u for posting ..I love this!

  • Me too, I was shocked when it came on TV

  • HER VOICE IS SO PURE!

  • love this, janet was around 10 years before madonna even was though of. JANETS THE QUEEN OF POP
