Left hand stuff sounds like a guitar playing chords, not exactly but at times it really is a combination of the piano and guitar. Kind of. Some ideas: using a soft cloth mute, could you get a light vibe/roads sound? Also how many strings per key?
Very interesting, I really appreciate creations like this.
Thanks for the jazz on clavichord. I do a lot of improvising on my clavichord as well. Nice to know I'm not the only one who finds it very conducive to jazz.
Congratulations! How nice to wake up to this this morning. So you too have indulged in a 'box of flies' (as the French call it)? Great playing with plenty of breathing and phrasing. That's how to play the Bach too. Got the link from Yahoo group.
It is absolutely new. Jazz in ancient instrument. Good.

This is the first time I've heard jazz played on one of my father's instruments - thanks for posting this - I love it!

Very cool, I love it! - but I notice some part of me reacting to this by thinking "how sacrilegious" (I told that part of me to chill out).

Bach would have digged this

I think the clavichord is a very regal sounding instrument. This one has a nice round tone! Nice playing man, I dig!

Do my eyes deceive me or you can actually do vibrato there? :O

Can anybody tell me why this seems to be the only video of ACTUAL jazz on an ACTUAL clavichord?
I want more!

An amazing juxtaposition. I like the improvisation and a tone of the clavichord, as well. With the great jazz standard on the top - full respect!
By the way, would be interesting to know who's playing...

sounds a bit like guitar, especially the low range of the instrument, but with more articulation. Very expressive.
Wondering if improv on a harpsichord.
