in the latest version of spider jam- it lets you import/export wav files to and from the sd card. but the problem is it only allows 16bit mono 44100hz wave file... do you have any idea on how to convert normal wav files to this format?
Sounding good. I like your musical idea - very melodic. The sound quality of the amp is excellent too. How did you record this? Stereo outs from the back of the amp into a sound card or interface of some kind on your computer? Thanks.
Thanks - recorded by taking stereo outs straight into the built in line-in on a macbook. Note that Line6 have just announced the firmware update (ETA Sep 2008) which will allow recordings to be saved to the SD card slot, which will provide better quality than this (i.e. just a digital copy, no D-A-D transfers).
That was great. I have a spider jam too...unfortunately, I have trouble getting rid of the flashing 12:00 on my vcr...so, this is a whole new kettle of fish for me. ;)
The Spider Jam is a "full range" amp, i.e. it has a tweeter and a mic input, and hence can be used with an acoustic instrument if you bypass all the amp modelling stuff, this is what I do mostly. You can half the tempo only, but that's not very useful because it also halfs the pitch :(
To elaborate on this... seems like your acoustic is going into the built in looper first ? (i don't have that) so is it possible to plug the acoustic directly into this amp? which port would i use to do that to get the acoustic sound without the effects? sorry Im a newb...
The acoustic is going into either the Mic in or the Aux in, and sometimes even the Guitar in (to get the amp modelling for solo/fx's etc). The looper be set take any of those inputs, and the Aux in can be set to go to the amp modelling if desired. Hope that helps. Note that the other Spider amps, the non "Jam" ones, do not have full range speakers so they won't work so well with acoustic instruments...

Finally someone giving a demo of this awesome amp with a cool sound instead of hellish distortion ruining every note. Nice work!

So with amp you can plug in an acoustic guitar and an electric guitar?
Glencse 3 years ago
Yes, it has 4 inputs actually:
Guitar -> processed by amp modelling
Mic + Aux -> both processed by aux processing (separate eq, compression, delay, reverb, level control)
CD -> not processed, just a CD input

would it be possible to play a live club gig with that? Like maybe plug directly into the mixer and feed through the PA?
stevieVantanna 3 years ago
Yeah sure - the amp has 2 rca outs on the back that can be run into a PA with a DI box.

does the spider jam amp have an acoustic simulator of some sort and can you change the tempo of the loop?

No name yet, it's an idea I'm still developing, there's other parts to it that I didn't loop this time ;)

Very impressive.

Hey Mark, I'm real happy with the shortboard, it's extremely sturdy. Guitar is pretty ordinary, a Yamaha APX-5 from circa 1994. Cheers

Hi, samplehead! How do you like your FBV Shortboard? What type of guitar did you use?
