  • Girl I did this, and I though my hair would never stop burning!!!! I felt like calling the fire department!

  • I have had some success with cayenne... but it can burn your scalp if you are not careful

  • I just made mine. But I add hemp oil with the Jamaican black castor oil. Do I have to put it in the fridge?

  • Do you think I can use hemp oil as a pre poo, than coconut oil? Co seems to dry my hair out. And yes its organic coconut oil I use.

  • On average, how many inches of growth do you think your hair gained from using cayenne pepper in your oils? My hair grows about half an inch a month... would it be possible for my hair to double that to an inch a month?

  • I used about 1 parts cayenne pepper to 2 parts oil.

  • Thank you for this video.. But can you tell me what is the proportion you have used to mix the oil with the pepper...

  • Do you more length up to now, are you still using cayenne pepper?

  • I just found your video and am eager to try this out. My question is how often do you do this treatment? I recently went natural and am looking for ways to grow my hair out. Thank you!

  • How often do you do this?

  • How long it took you to start seeing results, and how often do you use this treatment? I have thin hair specially on my nape. Do you think this treatment could help? Thanks!

  • Interesting. I hadn't heard of this before. By the way, I love your accent.

  • Any results??

  • can i use cooking oil?

  • can you cook with that!

  • i know a girl with alopecia called kirsty leigh anderson she lives in nelson ear burnely lancashire england 2 brier heights close, she has alopeicia the early stages, its very bad she is bold at the front, but she makes her hair look very nice infact ud hardly ever noyice it facebook her and look at her photos guys she really hot

  • how much growth results have you gotten from using this product? Will you be posting a video with the results any time soon?

  • Do you think I could use cayenne oil instead of cayenne pepper?

  • @13of22

I've never tried the cayenne oil so cannot answer your question. If you have cayenne oil, use it for six months and see if you get any results. Then stop and switch to the cayenne pepper method I use and see if there is a difference after another six months. Only by comparing the two will you be able to tell if the cayenne oil works .

  • @13of22 im pretty sure you can use cayenne oil, as long as it is pastey

  • Is this treatment good for balding guys like me?

  • @ripperduck - I'm not a dermatologist, but as the ingredients are natural, it wouldn't hurt to try it out. Let me know what happens!

  • Hi Miss Jrdaly is this treatment suitable for dreadlocks? Thanks I infuse lavender or rosemary in sweet almond oil with a little hit of pure essential oil

  • @allybruce08

Not sure. The castor oil is not the best smelling oil to have in your hair. How easy would it be to wash out? I do not have dreadlocks, so am not sure if the oil will come out of the locks completely when you wash it as it is thick. What has been your experience? Sweet almond oil is a very light oil with not much of a smell. Castor oil is pungent...

  • i was skeptical about cayenne pepper on my head,lol..but it does seem to be working

  • Do you really need it to sit or can you mix and use the same day....

  • @secrets2keep

It works better if you allow the pepper to "infuse" with the oil.

  • When you relax do you pull the relaxer all the way to your ends?

  • @blueandblessed

    NEVER!!!! EVER!!!

You should NEVER relax previously relaxed hair! It is a sure way to severe breakage and loss of hair. As I relax my own hair more times than not, I tend to stick with relaxers (such as optimum) that include hair protector solutions for previously relaxed hair.

  • Honestly, why are black women so concerned about growing their hair? Who cares if you have short hair it what defines you as a black woman

  • @blackyurizan

I don't think that wanting to grow your hair or take care of it is exclusive to our race. I exercise t take care of my body, and I use products on my face to clear it of blemishes. Why should I ignore my hair?

  • Girl you sound so Trini, but you're probably from JA, big up!!. Thanks for the tips, will be having a go at it..

  • @goldifoxxx1

I am from Trinidad and VERY proud of it! LOL! Good catch though... I've been asked many times if I'm British!

  • I started this last wk and the hair is starting to sprout in on my edges.

  • @niquentae

Keep it up. You will LOVE the results! (And it doesn't cost much too!) LOL!!

  • Hello! My hair as well as my daughters hair is very full and thick. Does this product just to thicken or can we use it for lengthening?

  • @mrskelley04

Castor Oil is great for sealing in moisture. African American hair tend to break easily at the ends because of dryness (lost moisture) and heat damage. If applied sparingly on the ends each day, it will help your hair retain moisture and reduce breakage.

  • Hello your hair is beautiful thick too

    Did you see immediate results?

Will it work for balding areas in my hairline :)

  • @JoudanJanaiHa

My hair was balding around the edges before I started using Castor oil. I massaged it each night into the troubled areas and started seeing results in three weeks. After six weeks the bald spots were noticeably less and after 8 weeks, they were gone.

  • @jrdaly1 Were you using plain castor oil or jamaican castor oil?

  • @sherrosgirl

I used the Lavendar scented Jamaican Black Castor oil. However, any other brand of castor oil should work just as well.

  • hi ive got a question, does this only work with cayenne pepper or would this work with other peppers?

  • @BTBMfan I'm not sure. Cayenne pepper has been studied and clinically proven to assist with hair growth. It is possible that other peppers can be used, but more research is needed.

  • Why don't you use MSM powder (you can take msm orally or you can apply it topically. its also good for thicken thin hair and keeping your hair in growth phase longer. also cayenne pepper contains sulphur which is one of the ingredient that actually helps the hair to grow. and MSM is 100% pure sulphur so skip the burning phase and go for a less harsh remedy.

  • @Sharijo87 I love MSM. It makes my nails grow like crazy!

  • Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge! I really appreciate videos like this because I'm always on a never ending quest to find helpful information about black hair. You did a great job relaying your message, despite of your busy ( and I'm sure very cute) 2 year old running around. Thanks again!

  • how were the results like , when will you see the results?

  • Great video! Thanks for sharing your technique. I am an ex-Monistat user. I got a LOT of growth from using it, but am straying away from all unnatural products. I actually had quite a bit of shedding after I stopped using Monistat. I will use cayenne pepper instead with the JBCO. It may not work as quickly, but I'm sure I'll get more safe and sane results. :o)

By the way, do you recommend applying the oil straight from a jar as opposed to an applicator bottle?

  • @priddyihnpinc I recommend that you apply the oil straight from a jar. When you use an applicator bottle, you usually end up with more oil on your scalp than you need. It's not a pretty sight when the oil starts dripping down from your hair line! LOL! Also, my relaxer is next week so I'll post my results pictures for you to see.

  • Do you wet your hair 1st BEFORE you put it on? I've been mixing it with Olive oil, have u done it that way? Also, did you LOSE hair and have it actually grow back? Or did you just notice thinning hair get THICKER? Thanks!

  • @arashmets I always apply the oil on clean dry scalp. My edges were thinning due to not taking care of them, so I lost hair. I found that the hair not only grew back, but was thicker!

  • @arashmets I forgot to say that Olive Oil (or any natural oil) will work just as well.

  • Is it okay if I put alot of it in like an old hair grease container. and store it somewhere? Where should i put it? And how long should the mixture sit before i put it on my hair?

  • @DriaBabee Any plastic container will do. Just be sure to store the mixture out of direct sunlight. If possible, try to make the mixture at least 10 days before you start using it. This allows the pepper to infuse the oil. What you should end up with is the pepper settled at the bottom of your container with the oil on top. The oil should turn red from the pepper infusion.

  • I heard you can do the cayenne pepper paste with water instead of oil. Have you tried it this way?

  • @Jassyt9008 No I haven't tried it that way, though it may still work. I like using the castor oil as it helps thicken my hair... figured I'd kill two birds with one stone.

  • How often do you have to do this treatment?

  • @leeshay07 Try doing it before every wash if you can. I also find it easier to do it at night and then wash it in the morning. If you wash your hair every day (I do) then you can do it every day. There is no minimum on how frequently you can do this.

  • Have you found this to help with hair growth?

  • @toysvoice Yes. I have been applying it for almost two months straight. Once I've reached my three month mark, I will post another video with the results. I had almost immediate results on my edges that were thinning. It's fully grown in now.
