In Ice's case the white gene came from his dam. She is a white just like him. She passed a dominant version of the gene to Ice. Its not "maximum sabino" or "overo". He and his dam have been the subject of a color study done at UCDavis! We were all very suprised when he didn't come back sabino. That's what we had always thought he was. To the best of my knowledge he is still the only registered white Friesian cross in the U.S.. Enjoy the Friesians, they are so special!
Absolutely gorgeous! May I ask, do you have any idea where the white gene might have come from? I love Friesians and I'm just now finding out that there are red and white ones. I've only ever seen the traditional black ones, but I must say that your boy is one the most beautiful Friesians I've ever seen! Gorgeous!
Hi! He's doing very well and is a blast. He is very verbal and likes to "talk" to me and we have some very funny conversations-lol. You are also right as he is a very magical friend. He's fun to ride and always up for a new adventure. Thanks for your kind words. He is available for breeding if you'd be interested? Just thought I'd mention. All our best!
Hi Aini, Yes he's a happy boy and so am I. He makes a thrumming noise to me every morning to greet me and is the sweetest-and smartest!- horse I've ever owned. We're both doing very well. Do you have horses? Thanks for the nice comment (:
@BarrelUp Hi! Yes, extremely. He is the only White Friesian Sport Horse known! There is a whited out grey Friesian in Germany but he is really a grey not a true white. Ice also has dazzeling Carribian blue eyes too. He is a love and lots of fun too. He is available for breeding through frozen semen shipment if you are interested! Stay safe and Happy Trails...Heather
@BarrelUp Hi again (: He'll be 8 this September 22nd. Where are you from? The weather here (n. idaho) is lovely and Ice and I went "road riding". We had a blast and Ice loves to go places. He's such a good boy, he got me home with no problems and stood very still while I jumped off to pick up my dropped crop and then stood very nice for me when I needed a rock to jump back up on. He got a good grooming and extra treats when we got home (:
@bballgirlmu1 Hi! Technically there is no such thing as an "Albino" horse, but yes, Ice has pink skin and white hair. He also has dark blue eyes that gradate to navy blue/brown in color. He is registered in three registries and two of them are Friesian Sport Horse registries. He is also registered in the American White Horse registry and is elegible for several others like the American Blue Eyed Horse assoc etc. Mostly he is a lovely fun horse and I adore him (:
