  • This video is for those who think that science is boring.

  • Albert Died when I took my first acid trip in 3 years ago, just shows that with death there is life.

  • actually, it mmakes me wonder, how-on-earth was he able to ride a bicycle after that? he could have crashed a hundred times... :/

  • April 19 ;)

  • hm is 250 ug like huge dose or what is it normal dose? how much ug of lsd is in 2mmx2mm normal trip ?

  • @RammsteinFan1100 average is around 60-70 haha. he was the first guy to take it and took 250. also just found this out, funny shit.

  • 250 micrograms ("mikes") is what we used to call a "one-way" ticket. It is just about the smallest amount where you would still feel the effects - you probably wouldn't notice sixty or seventy mikes. I used to do 500-750 mikes - lots of times. And yes, it was pure, right from the chemist.

  • Psychedelic video! I love it!

  • Man he must have been tripping balls on that ride home

  • PERFECT song!!!!! Atom Heart Mother Suite is among my most spiritual songs

  • great song in the back

    Pink Floyd-Atom heart mother

  • did cid n drove my car, once

i thought i was gonna die lol

    will nvr do it again

  • Amazing!

  • Here, lemme take 250 ug. *gulp* *gulp* *gulp*

  • lmao "smallest effective dose" "250ug"

  • He took it in the middle of the war how hard is that. He must have been mental

  • i was a military man and then a father and grandfather, but i can honestly say the greatest moment in my life was the 6 hours of an LSD trip i had in 1983 at the age of 17.

It was magical and everything was perfect. The weather, music, people and events of those 6 hours. I can't explain it but it was heaven on earth. I understood what happiness was, what beauty was and how good the world could and should be. I can only say "be responsible for your own happiness"

  • Strawberry Fields Forever...

  • SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK

  • @NightSh4d0W take acid and you'll soon be better... LOL

  • Remembering my psychedelic journeys...

  • Remembering my psychedelic journeys...

  • I was sucked into an never ending spiral and concentrated on one single drop of water and got immersed again in this cosmic vortex.

    Macrocosm inside microcosm -

the inside is out and the outside is in.

  • LSD gives you a longer life! see hofmann, he was 102 years when he died!

  • 2 notes:

    - Man you should know that the dose was dropped in the skin and it was absorbed by the finger;

    - He was taken by a friend in the bicicly since he was in no condition of ridding.

The witch that he saw in the dream was he's neighbour giving him a glass of milk! Wonderful! hehehe I like it!

  • @saikatanas

Yes it was dropped onto the finger that was the first unintentional use of lsd but the first trip was when he ingested it and then rode the bike himself. No where have I read of someone else picking him up.

  • ahhh love this video

  • 250 micrograms... 1 dose of lsd is 20micrograms in order to have any sort of effect.... he took about 12 hits of acid...

  • Good soundtrack by Yes :)))

  • Very gooddd!

  • Sounds like he almost had ego death.

  • I remember taking LSD numerous times. Only last Friday did I learn what a real trip was.

  • @LemonLimeLaughter explain?

  • @Hjilnutnaak

Patterns in my behavior no longer existed. I was improvising my personality like never before. Although mushrooms and LSA can do that, the new personality for me feels 'fake', for lack of a better word. Much of my new personality does not stay with me once the effects wear off. On the other hand, LSD can change a person like if it were nobody's business, that is why its so amazing and why it should be treated with respect.

  • what is thee songg?

  • @NOBRAINERS atom heart mother-pink floyd

  • @masterfudd cheers

  • Just great !!!!!! love sex & death

  • @ben76raz ever made... LSD dont grow from earth, so it cant be discovered, it just can be made

  • @ben76raz actully N,N-Dimethyltryptamine is

  • @ben76raz LoL...more like DMT...

LSD is just synthetic and makes other psychedelics look bad

  • uffff q chimba ese mk

    q raya.

    i love tripi :P

  • Muy buen video loco!

    Y con PF de fondo!!

Lo interpretaste a la perfección la experiencia del creador de LSD..jaja! me mata cuando esta en pleno viaje y toma leche jaja! que grosso Hofmann!! Genio!

  • OMG! WTF?! Go to erowid! LOL

  • instead of asking random strangers for answers which may be false, go to Erowid... google "erowid lsd" and you'll find some great information. OR wikipedia LSD

  • awesome! ;)

  • Poor animation. It's based on fake information. READ A FUCKING BOOK before doing this "creative" things.

  • osea se metio todo eso de acido lsd y .......

    alaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

nomames, hoffman era el mejor era pura trasparencia y claridad era el mejor

    yo lo admiro

  • AMOR!

  • Atom Heart Mother as soundtrack...

  • lol at albert chugging acid.

  • muy bueno

  • Albert Hofmann is my hero, but not for making LSD he is my hero because of why he made LSD. most people dont know it but he believed that if you were to mix the right hallucinogens together you would make a drug that would drastically increase brain function, basically liquid enlightenment. Which actually LSD does it increases brain function about 4x, however it hinders connections with cognitive function so you cant process what your taking in.

  • ugh no actualy your wrong . lsd comes from ergot with is a fungus that grows on rye and albert hoffman was trying to make somthing that could help ease the pains of child birth and an came across lsd by accident

  • so glad he did! hahaha

  • you're right.. i thought it was the same day.. but he had to be sure it was the chemical he touched the other day and not some strange fever or something

  • he didnt even know he was drugged with the bikeride.. as he only touched the drug with bare hands

  • not really. The first contact was one day before the bicycle day. There he only "touched" the LSD and had only light effects. Because of this he toked the next day the 250 microgram and that was the first real LSD trip and the Bicacly Day.

  • acid can seep through your pores.

  • GODLUBE Uncle Jesus I watched the bicycle ride video of Albert Hoffman. I thought, now I understand where religious people are coming from when they believe the delusions they have are real.

Hoffman experienced delusions he interpreted as real, induced by LSD. Karl Marx is partly correct, not only is religion the opiate of the masses, it is their LSD inducing their delusions and their alcohol explaining their, aggressiveness, intolerance, and loss of judgment.

  • hhahah thats fake, that was not his lsd trip by the way he realized that there was 3 wheels in his bycicle and he never "died" ahaha nd by da way pink floyd song that is nice

  • Thats fuckin intense, poor fellow, Albert Hofmann is my hero

  • Dude, that was a friggin awesome vid!

  • The story of the first LSD trip, I believe, is one of the most epic stories ever told by man.

  • technically it's the first intentional lsd trip. He tripped 3 days before on April 16th, 1943 by accident

  • I know, I wrote my research paper on L

The second trip is more far out by a factor of light years.

  • Good work! Reminds me of my youth, I'm 70 now and was there when all came out to the world

  • quemasa jaja fijate los mios

  • ...y waste of a comment?

  • that milk-serving demon had some nice tits

  • acutally it was bicycle day when he took the 250 micrograms

  • Cool Thankyou

  • It's a cool video, but get your facts correct. On bicycle day, he accidentally got some on his fingers without knowing it, and started tripping, thinking that he had died and gone to hell. It wasn't until a few days later when he took the 250 micrograms.

  • You are exactly correct from what I remember reading. Transmission through his skin cells into capillaries. I am 58 now and born with autism which is a birth defect where you are tripping on natural LSD. My February 17th 1968 trip resulted in my left hemisphere awakening where I could talk without forgetting what I was saying, for the first time in my life.

  • wow so it actually reversed some of your autism symptoms??? thats amazing and quite interesting. Can anyone explain to me why LSD causes so much obscure and dellusions? How was he smart enough to make a drug were it can somewhat connect with the spiritual world???

  • Yes. It worked for me. The aftermath of a trip in Feb. '68, enabled me to talk without stuttering and stammering (forgetting what you are saying).

  • it was an accident

  • The bicycle day was in fact the day he took it intentionally...not the day it accidentally got on his fingers.

  • No it was not. Read "LSD: My Problem Child" by Albert Hoffman.

  • Nice vid, man. Thanks a lot for this.

  • when you take LSD you must think postive befor.

  • have you taken it before? are there different types of LSD that will result in either a good trip or a bad trip? or is it all mental and how you're feeling?

  • David, this video is absolutely stunning. Do you have others like it? I think it's great that you put so much time into such a wonderful tribute to Mr. Hoffman. Few people appreciate such amazing surrealism...I love the great tentacled beast at the end, the patterns it makes with it's tentacles are very reminiscent of the patterns one would see on LSD. This is a wonderful piece of art, congratulations.

Also, I love the soundtrack, I wonder if Mr. Hoffman ever listened to Floyd.

  • Awesome soundtrack! Atom Heart Mother by Pink Floyd. How appropriate...

  • atom heart mother...nice

  • aguante la pepa manga de gatos!!!

    :E

  • This makes me want to trip again. My first time I just had a single hit it was fun but nothing too mindblowing. Two days later I took two hits but by then I had a tolerance to it and it just made me blissful. Oh, and walking felt wierd

  • Yes, walking the the wrost part

But tripping is gd when controled

  • what?! I love walking on lsd! Is like if the ground were made out of cushions or something

So I finally got to trip again and it was a hell of a ride :P

  • had a bad experience in a rave.

I thought i was above every one...so i wouldnt move....until a friend realize the trip and carried me

    uahuahuahuahahuahuahuahuahuahuah

laughed my asss off after i chilled out

    uahauhauhauhauhauhauha..well alwayssss laughingggggg

    uahuahuhahauahuhuah

  • hahaha, weird shit like that happens when on lsd

  • It's because of junkies like you that LSD, a very valuable drug, is kept illegal.

  • Would you have the balls to say this to me in person? Who are you to call me a junkie? You do LSD aswell (or do you?) so you can't judge me. LSD showed me how some people are just full shit and always try to take you down because they think they're worth something. In my eyes you're just another one of those assholes. Unless you would like to prove yourself otherwise, that opinion will be here to stay

  • well said...lol

  • Also cronokon, calling me a junkie wont help on making it legal. So get over yourself.

  • i thought he accidently was dosed himself with the drug through his fingers or something? im just saying what i heard tho.

  • While re-synthesizing LSD, he accidentally absorbed a small quantity through his fingertips and serendipitously discovered its powerful effects before his bicycle ride home. Three days later, on April 19, Hofmann deliberately consumed 250 micrograms of LSD. This was followed by a series of self-experiments conducted by Hofmann and his colleagues.

  • well i had a few great trips on acid :)

but guys believe me, after you had a fucking bad from paranoier plagued horrortrip like i had the 8th time i took acid, i´m scared to death... never gonna touch a ticket again! and who has never taken a trip in their life: LEAVE IT! please! a can end very horrible! honestly!

  • Tripping is a state of mind. A bad trip is only bad when you decide its going to be. I went to prison tripping. I was arrested about 10 minutes after I ate 3 sugar cubes and although it was not want I had planned for. It still was awesome and insane. Try it again just do it by yourself in a safe environment and some good tunes and it will be as good as new!

  • would tht be the magic psycle ????

  • bello

  • trippy

  • I tried acid in college, and ended up in the hospital after a wild rampage...punched two cops and a security guard.

In my mind now, this world, is just a game

we call life. Everyone is the same, with the same thoughts, noone is different, you decide your destiny...all the small decisions you make end up with you at the end of it all.

Dont watch scary movies by yourself in the dark on acid. I need to retry it in a better enviroment, because I cant live in the world after have a bad trip.

  • Everyone is different, we are the same in some respects, not thought patterns...

  • lemee guess...football jock, right?

news flash pledge...steriods and lsd dont mix well.

sucks 2 be you, I love to sit in a blacklight lit room tripped out on 4-5 doses watchin horror movies alone.

    keep yer unstable vibes elswhere

  • no you're wrong...keep your stable vibes closebye.

  • my apologies, its not my place to judge you, i was in a bad mood when i wrote it.

again, i apologize for such a harsh reply.

  • Note: you should never ingest that much LSD.

  • wondeful present & great video

  • Thank for all dr Hoffman... from my heart, thanks for everythinks, the human being will never forget you..

gracias por todo hoffman, cambiaste a la humanidad para mejor!!

  • great work daniel. But at first I see that Mr.Hoffman drink the LSD and we all Know that the Lsd was to find Mr.Hoffman.He come in contact with LSD and dont know what's happen with him.Excuse me if I correct You,but at last very great Video.**maGia**

  • Why would anyone try to measure this kind of thought process? It is too beautiful and too big to play with. Too ginormous and fantastical.

  • uninterrupted stream of fantastic pictures, extraordinary shapes with intense, kaleidoscopic play of colors. After some two hours this condition faded away.

  • Last Friday, April 16,1943, I was forced to interrupt my work in the laboratory in the middle of the afternoon and proceed home, being affected by a remarkable restlessness, combined with a slight dizziness. At home I lay down and sank into a not unpleasant intoxicated-like condition, characterized by an extremely stimulated imagination. In a dreamlike state, with eyes closed (I found the daylight to be unpleasantly glaring), I perceived an

  • thanx for posting, i only had this on myspace. you are very talented and well informed.

rest well in heaven my freind.

  • Goodbye Dr. Hoffman....."Have a nice Trip"...Your thoughts will live forever in our mind ... =((

  • Mr. Albert Hoffman made one of the most important contribution to society. Maybe one we can bring back LSD. When thinking becomes legal again. Hoffman will always benn in our hearts and minds. R.I.P.

  • What an amazing chemist and truly remarkable and dedicated scientist. To have made all those discoveries in war-torn Austria in 1943 is astonishing and one wonders what he could achieved if he was born 50 years later. Rest in peace Albert, science will miss you.

  • isn't he swiss? and is it 1943 when he discovered it? i thought it's in the 50s?

  • Yes, he was Swiss. He first made LSD-25 in 1938! It was when he was playing with the stuff in 1943 that he accidently discovered the WONDERFUL properties of the stuff. The rest is history........

  • Good show!

  • Dr Hoffman, you will always be remembered. I wish you a happy bicycle ride in Heaven. Save a ride for me, Doctor, and fly on.

  • 250 micrograms , that sure was a hell of a ride!!! RIP hoffman

  • oh my god ... incredible ... very beautiful animation and amazing choice for the song ... I think this is the best video I ever see on youtube ... intresting and well done.

    Bye

  • ..and whats the name of this great piece of musical art? whats the name of band behind instruments?

  • "Atom Heart Mother Suite". The band is "Pink Floyd" accompanied by (I think) the London Philharmonic. The piece was composed mostly by Ron Geesin, and was recorded in 1970. Pink Floyd made their first American tour with this album. Pink Floyd also granted me use of the music, and so this is legitimate usage - no infringement here.

  • ystrdy was a good trip to those planes beyond... full of thought of his mind, full of memories, full of child and unknown being. we were flying in times and lands unknown and familiar in those colourful coats. emotional bonds blossoming and flowing away... we came back from future,we came back from the past, to dwell in reality we wont forget the child eliciting power of unconscious mind! for we are the flowers we´re those angels eyes, for you´re our dear benefactor, we love, whenever you lie

  • RIP HOFFMAN YOU WILL BE MISSED

  • RIP ALBERT HOFFMAN HE DIED TODAY!

  • if thats the kinda shit ur supposed to see i better up the dose a bit

  • great

  • RIP Hoffman

  • RIP.

  • Actually hoffman first accidentally dosed, then carried out the self experiment with the 250 mg dose.

  • Not 250 milligrams (mg)!

250 MICROGRAMS (mcg). There is a thousand times difference in the two quantities. 250 mg would be the same as 25 sheets of 100 mcg doses, and a 100 mcg dose is quite powerful. Owlsley and colleagues dosed "White Lightning" and later "Orange Sunshine" at 250 mcg because that was the dosage used by Hofmann for the first trip - and they wanted everyone to trip hard. Hofmann used this dosage because it was so incredibly tiny, and was utterly surprised . . .
