James knew he had trip aces, yet he checked, then called the 5k to see the final card. If he had gone all in on the turn card, the guy would have suspected a pair of aces which would beat his pair kings thus making him fold. Instead he played poker well and milked that cocky shit for everything he had :)

any1 who saw that scene will think that slowplay is a monster move in poker, in fact its overplayed by weak players. slowplay everytime u have a strong hand and u will find out that u earn less than just betting strong like u suposed to do. that film is stupid in terms of real poker

Well sure, it might work against a few clueless morons who have no clue of how to play poker, but a real player bets strong with almost any hand. especially when you hold a monster, because by checking, unless you are REALLY sure of your oponent's hand, you might be giving free cards to complete a draw. A bet might be a semi-bluff.
