Michael Phillips is tight with his rating reviews; even if he means to give a film a four star rating, it all depends on the year of the movies themselves. If you don't believe me, type in Michael Phillips Rotten Tomatoes for his interview.
Nonetheless, I gave the film a 9/10 rating on my review of the film. But that doesn't stop me from watching it. It's still a VERY GOOD movie.
Did anybody buy the Michael Clayton DVD and watch the movie with Tony Gilroy's commentary? He makes a HUGE error in it. In the commentary Gilroy talks about the scene at the bar after Arthur dies when Clooney goes to see Pollack. Gilroy says that after this scene, Pollack goes back to the office and the opening late night office scene at the begenning takes place, BUT in actuality, that scene does not happen til the next night in the movie. HUGE screw up by Gilroy. And this is on the DVD!!
The commentray with the Gilroy brothers is among the best commentaries Ive ever listened to. A great casual relaxed sense of humor, self-deprecating, and humble discussion of the film.
And while I do think there are some flaws with this otherwise brilliant film, I dont hink Gilroy makes the mistake you claim here. Listen again.
wtf is this guy talking about "if george clooney continues to pick projects as good as michael clayton..." this makes him sound like a newbie actor. george has had a great film carreer for a long time.
@liquidpersuasion Its called being pretentious and full of ones self. The more important a man tells himself he is the more he starts to believe it but it doesn't mean he truly is. Clooney as you said has been very successful in what he does.
What a useless review... :(

"David & Goliath"?
This so-called reviewer is hopeless - and not just because of the above phrase.
