The door locks so dumbasses like you can't open it when it's hot. How did all that wax get splashed on the inside? Were you shaking it when there was hot wax in it. That explains why it was smoking and highlights you lack of common sense. The machine uses a light bulb to heat the crayons, not a gas torch or something. It is going to take a while.

Question - were you two fed lead paint chips through a sling shot when you were little! My 9 and 10 year olds got this last year for Christmas and they learned how to properly use the thing because they READ the directions and had patience, clearly there is defects and it is not with the crayon maker, it is with the operators of the crayon maker! 1. If you were using it correctly, there should only be was in the 2 metal trays, and the crayon mould. You can easilly wash both of them with hot water.... it takes the same amount of time to wash a plate and cup. Get over it.

2. The smoke? You're melting wax, of course it's going to smell. Plus, it's probably steam. That happens when things get hot, and there is a liquid near it.

3. It's not supposed to open when it's on. If you make a mistake UNPLUG IT! Then it will open. -,-
