Even if you don't really like Halo, there is absolutely no denying that it ranks among the most influencial and important franchises of the last generations.
I do not own a 360 and I have not owned an original XBox, yet still I can see how people find this game so appealing. It shows, after all, that even an FPS can have a more complex storyline.

@WaveBeamWolf Apples and oranges. Halo's an FPS, Metroid was originally an 2D adventure, then shifted to FPS. Both are great in their own respects (multiplayer for Halo, exploration/mechanics for Metroid)
I spent my night looking at VGM. It is rather amusing to see that most of the classic music videos (Stickerbrush, Dire Dire Docks etc) have people sharing their own stories rather than people saying this game is better than that game.
I was looking forward to Halo when it was still announced as a revolutionary PC exclusive. Then they scrapped half the ideas which were then made popular in BF1942, and Halo became a boring, replacable brainless shooter with one of the worst level designs I had to suffer through.
@Joernboy What an idiot, Halo is quite easily the best shooter around since Goldeneye and Perfect dark, good weapons, multiplayer, and an amazing story and world. Also console>PC any day of the week.
@TheRetroPrime You might consider broadening you horizon. Halo may well be one of the best shooters you have ever played. This means you have not played the most of the best shooters. Insulting me also won't change the fact that Halo is a generic, mediocre game for the masses, much like the CoD series. Your experience of the game may differ from mine, sure, but objectively, it's not special in any way, despite having several flaws.

I own a PS3 and have never had a xbox therefore never played Halo, but it's great to see people get the kind of nostalgia that I would get with metal gear solid or loads of classic Sega or Nintendo games.
The only reason people hate Halo, is because they have a PS3, and the only reason people hate COD, is because they have a Wii, and the only reason people hate the Wii is because they think its a baby toy. All these arguements because COD is most played on PS3, Halo is an XBOX exclusive, all this because they're different versions or exclusives. Dont believe me? Look at Half Life 2, TF2, and Portal. Marty proved how modern games could have just as a memorable soundtrack as those from our past. Takes real talent to create something that can be held on the same level of awesomeness as the original Mario and Zelda songs of the past.

It ain't a competition. You don't have to pick sides. Whatever you may think it IS possible to own a Wii and a 360. Or a Gamecube and a PS2. There isn't some unwritten law that says you aren't allowed to play Halo if you enjoy Mario titles.
Honestly? The true winners are the ones who realize that. I dont' care if you think Metroid prime is better than Halo. Sure it's got a better campaign but what about multiplayer? Or, better yet, why don't I just play both and be happy?

just as everythings about to blow up your running for your life to make the last plane out of there, enemies are getting blown up the floor is collapsing, you then see the plane and run for it, just as you make it on the whole place goes down......such a theme tune
Halo was awesome for its time (2000-2001), but it quickly got on the wrong side of many people as it got more sequels and became ultra popular. This music is so nostalgic, it pretty much describes my experience
I can't be mad at people for having their opinions, but it's pretty weird how someone couldn't like halo, even at least a little, put aside the fact some people hate it just because it's on xbox. Personally i think the Halo franchise is one of the best that has ever been created, it revolutionized the game just like Call of Duty, and has a storyline that i was in love with. Everyone is entitiled to their opinion, and that's mine. Kudos bungie and thanks for great games and memories :D

@mirorih2 What about Metroid, F-Zero, Fire Emblem, Punch-Out!!, Sin and Punishment (I haven't played S&P II, so don't know about that)? All of these, save for possibly S&P, are 1st-party Nintendo series that are still around today, still alive too.
I really like hoe the music for Halo is completely different from every other war game, not that I play many war games, so I don't REALLY know. But it's like every action sequence in other games comes with some kind of rock or guitar riff. They kept it classy with Halo and gave you full orchestrations.
Brilliant, Beautiful, and Unique.. The Halo series is certain to live on as one of the best Video Game Series' in History.

Gears of War 1 wasn't that popular until more people started playing, and before you knew it Gears of War 2 was blowing up because it was fun. Should That be the same for Halo? Play it for fun?

@ryuuishida I played Halo already and owned xbox, I played it and I aint judgmental I know there is just too much "leet talk" and "haxorz" to be dealing with, now what I care about isn`t games(I play game or two on PC)...
Also Gears of War 2 only like kids who are into homosexual intercourse, thats why it became popular , because of its "machones"...

@tronlaser woah, woah, woah....i came here to listen to one of the best songs in the HISTORY of gaming and i'm stuck finding out that people are complaining about which system is the best. i have a wii. but i love COD AND Halo. i think that to play only one system is to be closeminded, just because the game isn't exactly bloody or m or stuck looking down a scope the entire time, it DOES NOT mean the game sucks. every game out there that is well known is a grear game for a REASON people

Marty proved how modern games could have just as a memorable soundtrack as those from our past. Takes real talent to create something that can be held on the same level of awesomeness as the original Mario and Zelda songs of the past.

It ain't a competition. You don't have to pick sides. Whatever you may think it IS possible to own a Wii and a 360. Or a Gamecube and a PS2. There isn't some unwritten law that says you aren't allowed to play Halo if you enjoy Mario titles.
Honestly? The true winners are the ones who realize that. I dont' care if you think Metroid prime is better than Halo. Sure it's got a better campaign but what about multiplayer? Or, better yet, why don't I just play both and be happy?

@0YouKnowThatGuy0 Maybe, but not that much. Don't get me wrong, it's a fairly entertaining game, but I can't help feeling that it's a bit lacklustre. It comes up to "pretty good, might play again", and then just sort of stops.

Halo was awesome for its time (2000-2001), but it quickly got on the wrong side of many people as it got more sequels and became ultra popular. This music is so nostalgic, it pretty much describes my experience

I can't be mad at people for having their opinions, but it's pretty weird how someone couldn't like halo, even at least a little, put aside the fact some people hate it just because it's on xbox. Personally i think the Halo franchise is one of the best that has ever been created, it revolutionized the game just like Call of Duty, and has a storyline that i was in love with. Everyone is entitiled to their opinion, and that's mine. Kudos bungie and thanks for great games and memories :D

@mcgrady301 halo is totally awesome. I played The original One, Halo 2 and Reach. I love them. Halo have this special feeling, which isn't compareable to playing COD or something. I never had an Xbox or 360. I always played Nintendo and Sony. I think it's stupid to hate a system or a game, just because it's on Xbox or Playstation... It's about the software nt about the hardware...

@mcgrady301 Just to make it clear that i love the Halo franchise as well, but it was the first game that revolutionized the gaming industry but the rest didn't, the CoD didn't revolutionize anything, that i know of at least. But that's my opinion.

@mirorih2 What about Metroid, F-Zero, Fire Emblem, Punch-Out!!, Sin and Punishment (I haven't played S&P II, so don't know about that)? All of these, save for possibly S&P, are 1st-party Nintendo series that are still around today, still alive too.

I really like hoe the music for Halo is completely different from every other war game, not that I play many war games, so I don't REALLY know. But it's like every action sequence in other games comes with some kind of rock or guitar riff. They kept it classy with Halo and gave you full orchestrations.
