I am doing a essay on Euthanasia and came across this. How sorry I am for this family. I'm not sure how I feel about Euthanasia, but I do know that I am not for someone else deciding someones death. If Terri did not want to live I am sure she would have let someone know when she was beginning to talk, and I am definitely sure that if she wanted to die she did not want to be starved or dehydrated for that is painful. That judge should be charged...he should be repulsed by his own reflection
Dearest Robert, Mary, Bobby and Suzanne, As one of the many millions who suffered with you, I am taking this moment to assure you that we have not forgotten Terri, and we have not forgotten you. Our pain could in no wise compare to yours, but we were not spectators. Our prayers were cries from our hearts with tears as sincere as if Terri was our own ... which, in God's family, she truly was and IS! I Love you all. Always will. Timmo/Pittsburgh, PA
Are you saying that you think that Schiavo was communicating at the time this decision was made? If you are, then you weren't paying attention when it was actually happening. The woman's brain was jello- no chance of recovery. Get a grip.
It takes a grown up to make a hard decision to let a loved one go. It's a shame that some people can't do that, but it's inexcusable for people to exploit this the way the Pat Robertson crowd did.
We treat animals better than we treated Terri. It seems to me that we have freedoms in America only if we can talk. I thought doctors took an oath but I guess that only counts when you are wanted.
This case was truly an asterisk on the US, but if people like you and me stand up for whats right, we can make sure there is a voice for those who cant speak for themselves.
I appreciate you taking the time to leave your comment.
@sds7508 You're right. A dog in Terri Schiavo's condition would have been painlessly put to sleep. But we Americans won't allow people to be painlessly put to sleep when they are beyond hope. We're too selfish and self righteous for that.
What I don't understand about this case is how the judges knew that her parents were willing to take care of her and still sentenced her to death just because of her low life husband wanted her dead.
I think that husband is going to have a lot to answer to God with when he passes away.
You know I'm not really surprized by this, because you know so many people hate or make fun of disabled, handicapped, autistic people in this world it's no wonder one wanted one dead.
but it being her husband wanting her dead. how does a person, a parent to that lady deal with that or even understand that.
but this is my opinion.
i need to also be careful that just hearing about her husband and him getting a girlfriend and then wanting his wife's food and water taken away, giving her the death sentece. because if i'm not careful this could turn into me hating that man and that is wrong. i hate what he did, but i can't hate him. because that is killing him n my heart

And who decides when life SHOULD be ended. Terri wanted to live.

@2TimothyChapter2 I have yet to meet a person who expressed a desire to be kept alive if he were in Terri's condition.
Gulfporter 1 year ago
@Gulfporter And yet Terri did want to live.
But more than that this an issue
of some one making a decision for you.
Taking it upon themselves to decide if you
should live or die, when you are saying you
still want to live. and disregarding your decision

@Gulfporter thats exactly what I am saying.
Im afraid you have been gravely misinformed.
Do me a favor and watch all 4 of these videos.
But you know you say "with no chance of recovery."
There are a lot of terminally ill people,
who have no chance of recovery, and
yet we dont decide to put them to death.
Will you watch this entire 4 part then see if you still feel the same way?

@2TimothyChapter2
Just because we CAN keep someone alive, doesn't mean that we should.
