  • Is it a russian ship as usual?

  • @winterstellar No, it is greek.

  • I hope they save all that crap destined for the Wal-Marts of the world.

  • Has 1700 cubic metres of oil onboard... This planet is going to hell...

  • the reef was well known and is on the charts for that area, this has all been a king size blunder by the ships navigators,no one else to blame, and the captain should have been keeping an eye on things, that`s what he is paid for.

  • all because they chose a cheap mount.

  • Everybody is calling everybody Foreigners. Did foreigners caused all the ship disasters since the Titanic? When are we earth species are going to understand that we are in an urgent need to unit to be able to fix the problems on our fragile Earth?

  • @stacesangel

They call me a roadpirate and as I'm in charge of my vihicles, you can call me a captain ass well. Wanna date?

  • Ok let's not play the "blame all the foreigners" game. Foreigners or whoever, didn't run that boat up on a shallow reef. Aren't dangerous hazards supposed to be mapped out, and then an alternate route charted by the Captain? I mean, the title of Captain isn't just handed out just to impress the "chicks."

  • NZ Government response to this is a joke.

  • The captain is probably really embarrassed about this.

  • What Was in the last container at the end?? Looked like somthing reacting

  • What a terrible tragedy. I hope the fuel oil gets contained quickly, and that the containers are recovered before they sink.

On the plus side, it's the first time I've seen a shipping container floating in NZ waters without Richard Hammond sitting on top.

  • @robinadair u fukin racist..BS

  • goverments allow shipping companies to employ 3rd world crews who get paid 3rd world salaries, simple.

  • @robinadair309 Redneck much? Should we ban foreigners from working and buying our exports?

  • @p0litics676

No, but the problem is that they abuse these 3rd world workers by paying them extreme low wages. These people have no other way to get some money, so they accept the job.

This way they have to work for sow wages and experienced and trained workers don't get a chance to get a job.

It's not good for any of us, not for us, not for them. I have no problem with foreign workers, as long as they work for the same money as we do. Better for us and for them...

  • @robinadair309 Many of these foreign crew, especially philipino crew members, live like kings back in their home countries on the wages they make aboard these ships.

  • some of those cantainers have classic cars in them ,what a friggen waste
