  • hello i am piper too, but i`m from mexico, congratulations my friend!!

  • Hey Very Nice . Keep up the good practice

  • Your dad looked like he was actually marching in!!

  • well done, you are trying very hard to keep the correct pressure, as someone said an easier reed may help. I wish you all the best for your future piping BTW Im ex Black Watch piper. NEMO ME IMPUNE LACESSIT

  • Great! awesome job!

  • Thats famlie.

  • I've just started to learn this jig. My teacher (who forbid me to play on the bagpipe a tune not fully mastered on the chanter) gave me a tip in order to play faster the two G gracenotes between the high A (2nd line between 2nd and 3rd bars): brush the chanter with your thumb downward then upward and not twice downward. Keep practicing with passion!

    Best regards from France.

    Stéphane

  • great playing nice sound poly pipes what brand pipes u got i have a new set of McCalumm poly pipes keep up the good work

  • Have anything more recent? Post it!

  • great job

  • very great job

The GHB are so hard to play

  • I want to rubbish some previous comments- everyone knowss fine from 6 months learning chanter that it is easier to learn a tune on the chanter and easier to play with an easy reed..thats not rocket science.. I think you show very nice playing and good for you for putting up this clearly played tune that others like myself can see and hear. Also, there is no harm in blasting away on the pipes to practice and learn a tune. More time spent on pipes = more stamina for playing pipes better.

  • 5*****

    Well played!!!

I know it´s a hard tune for playing!

It take a long time for master it!!

    Best regards from Germany

    Andreas

  • You were doing so well, until the idiot decided to wander round your back. That's what kinda threw you.

PS- The acorns ring pretentious 'Wendy-bells'

  • Maybe try a easier reed. It seems as if you a are beginner so a easy reed is not always a bad thing. Some easy reeds if you know how to adjust them can sounds very full.

Also try an easier tune. Sure, it might not be as fun but you will get better in the long run and it will sound better.

  • amazing !! I like it . God bless u

  • najs vid i noticed that you played it a little in slow motion altough i'm still trying everyday to make it more faster than yours. Try to play it more fluently on pipes it would be nicer on the rest keep it up m8 xD

  • heyy! um yeh that was good aye! um it's actually easier to play G.C.P.P. by learning it on the chanter first, then memorising it on the chanter and then trying it on the pipes because then you don't have to worry about looking at the music and you can concentrate on the fingering. Also: playing infront of a mirror can help you with your fingering!!! But yeh that was good!!!

  • ya, i learned dot-cut

  • Is your music for this 'dot-cut'? Interesting arrangement. Usually it is setting very round, nearly all eighth notes.

  • You seem to be struggling to keep up the pressure. What make and strength of reed do you use? Going with no drones is probably a good option until you build stamina.

nubb1337, once the basic fingering is learning, it should be memorized and cleaned up on the pipes (at least this is what I have picked up from other pipers). It's worked well for me so far. Also, I'm fairly certain we have/had the same instructor :)

  • before getting on the pipes learn how to play it on the practice chanter. then play the pipes with no drones, then 1 drone, ect. also it would help playing something a bit easier like the green hills of tyrol.

  • it can be tiring, but u have to build up the stamina...and i've found that mean practicing A LOT!!

  • @Peuxd11 nice work, tough tune. keep it up you're doing well.

  • Brillant! Please post more of your piping videos. Is it tiring to play the pipes, like on the lips and such? I would like to learn to play but I think its difficult??

  • Comment removed

  • i started playing chanter for about 6 years and the pipes about 4 years maybe...

  • I think it was great, except the part where your Dad walks through, that part was terrible. Your a better player than I am. How long have you been at it? OK, the part where Dad walks through was great, too.
